Bees welcome! 🐝⁠ New signage is up at the future home of our pollinator meadow across from the Farm Store! This space is being transformed into a biodiverse habitat filled with native grasses and flowering plants that will support pollinators and strengthen ecosystem health across the farm.⁠

Over the fall and winter, tarps helped suppress invasive plants and prepare the land. This fall, we’ll begin sowing a diverse mix of native species—including flowering trees, grasses, and wildflowers.⁠

We can’t wait to watch this landscape come alive with bees, butterflies, birds, and blooms.

It’s an all hands (and paws) on deck effort when it’s time to move the flock. 🐑

Every few days, our sheep are rotated to fresh pasture with the help of our livestock guardian dogs. Rotational grazing gives the flock access to a diversity of nutritious forage while also supporting healthier soils and stronger pasture ecosystems.

Next time you visit the Farm Store, listen for the flock’s bahs and see if you can spot which field they’re enjoying that day 🌿

Vegetables powered by leg day 🚲🥕💪

At Glynwood, some of the root vegetables headed to our Farm Store and CSA get cleaned in our human-powered washer, a low-tech tool that uses pedal power to spin a rotating drum while fine water jets spray away the soil.

Next time you pick up carrots at the Farm Store, just know: somebody probably biked to get them clean. 💚

Progress on our second Climate Battery greenhouse is underway 🌿🔧

Our farm team installed the plastic cover—an important step as we move closer to bringing this system online.

This Climate Battery design stores solar energy underground, helping regulate temperatures, extend the growing season, and reduce heating costs without relying on fossil fuels.

As our second iteration of this system, this greenhouse includes design refinements—including a shallower footprint and underground insulation—that we’re excited to test in real conditions. Once it’s operational, we’ll be tracking performance closely and sharing results to help regional farmers evaluate and adopt climate-resilient growing methods with confidence.

A summer concert on the farm? Yes please 🎶🌿

Join us at Glynwood for an easygoing evening of live music, picnic blankets, and golden hour views with folk-pop duo Lonely Parrots. Bring dinner, gather some friends, and enjoy a beautiful night outdoors surrounded by fields, forests, and good company.

This special performance is part of MORF (Music on Regenerative Farms), a grassroots project bringing live music to farms and land-based community spaces across the country.

Our Hudson Valley Apprentice cohort learned the ins and outs of tractor maintenance and operation in a recent class taught by SG Groat at Glynwood.

The full day workshop provided these beginning farmers with a thorough overview of how the tractor functions mechanically, reviewing tractor parts and maintenance requirements needed for each. Participants also learned about the theory of operating a tractor and safety precautions to utilize when working with these important farm machines.

Building confidence with equipment like this is a key step in growing the next generation of skilled, resilient farmers. 💪🌾
