This week has us in Boston and the surrounding area for a few days catching up with family and old friends. Yesterday’s wandering brought us to Fenway Garden Society, tended by residents of the city since 1942. Waitlist 2 years. Fee $25/year.

Enjoy these “over the fence” views of a few allotments. We saw it all from overgrown awaiting new stewardship, lasagna beds heating up, and full blown habitat for plants and people.

Another short but sweet (and inspiring) trip to Asheville, NC to visit friends blossoms creative. Included a journey out of town to check out local flower farming in action at Mandy. Holy wow! Row upon row of dahlias, tunnels full of crops coming and going, and terraces full of shrubs for foliage. Taking home great memories and lessons for our cutting garden.

Spent the eve of my 51st time around the sun at the Great Circle Earthworks with three friends. The four of us walked the land - first in silence and then sharing our questions and observations. Being in that space was an unexpectedly awe-some way to enter this moment.
