Job Title: Tasting Room & Market Sales Associate (Mead)
Job Summary:
We're seeking an energetic, personable Sales Associate to represent our meadery at events, farmers markets, and in our tasting room. This role blends direct sales, customer education, and hands-on event logistics — ideal for someone who enjoys talking to people, working outdoors, and being part of a small, hands-on team.
Key Responsibilities:
Pour and serve mead samples to customers at Big E tastings, farmers markets, and other off-site events
Educate customers on our mead selection — styles, flavor profiles, ingredients, and pairing suggestions
Drive direct sales of bottles/products at events and in the tasting room
Staff the tasting room, providing a welcoming and knowledgeable guest experience
Set up and break down market/event booths, including transport and handling of product, tables, signage, and equipment
Travel to and from event and market locations as scheduled (own transportation may be required)
Handle point-of-sale transactions and maintain accurate sales/inventory records at events
Represent the brand professionally, maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting sales space
Qualifications:
Prior experience in retail, hospitality, or food/beverage sales preferred
Comfortable speaking with the public and confidently educating customers on product offerings
Ability to lift and carry event equipment/product (specify weight, e.g., up to 40 lbs)
Reliable transportation and flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and event-based hours
Must be 21+ (alcohol service)
Valid ID/certification for alcohol service as required by state law (e.g., TIPS certification)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift/move equipment, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
