Way to go Cookie. Doeling will be retained, buckling (dark/brown/white/gold) is available as a bottle kid 6/25. He will have a full 24 hours of colostrum and be on a bottle.

I have this ADGA doeling available. She has wonderful potential to make someone a great doe. We have decided to keep her sibling- that’s the only reason she’s available. She could use some 1:1 people time, she is a little skittish. She has been to a couple shows and done fairly well. She walks on a lead and will snuggle in your lap.

With every show you attend you hope for the best results for your herd. All while in your gut trying to not expect anything so if you don’t do well you aren’t nearly as disappointed. With every show there are hundreds of goats that deserve to be there. Last weekend at the Hoosier Classic there were 400 goats! This weekend at Kidding Around Goat Shows there were around 200 (I don’t have the exact number). This weekend with high hopes, but low expectations Kayden Wallace and I loaded up 5 juniors to show in Washington Indiana.

Each year at kidding time you never know what to expect when the first doe decides it’s time. Merlot decided to kick off the season with a BANG. For a couple of reasons. Poor girl couldn’t deliver the FIFTH one and this morning when I got out there she wasn’t dilated enough for me to spin the kid. Off to the vet she went, after a full 90 minutes they finally got it out. My poor girl is exhausted and sore. But she’s alive and we didn’t have to do a c-section thankfully. While we did lose a buckling and doeling we are grateful that we have 3 healthy boys and a healthy momma.

This weekend was a first for Kayden Wallace and I. Since Daniel Wallace was on call this weekend we elected to drive up to the Hoosier Classic ADGA Show and show a few does. Let me just tell yall, Indiana came to play 400 juniors! Other than nationals I can’t say I’ve been to a show this HUGE and while we only came and showed juniors the show ran quickly and efficiently. There was no wasted time. We started around 845 and by 5:30 they were doing best in show following a THREE RING show! Way to go!! The facility was nice and we will definitely be back again. Thank you for putting on such a well oiled show!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

We took 2 alpines and 4 Nigerians. Our herd was all bred late and we are set to start kidding 6/27-7/5. We are showing does who didn’t get a dry leg early on because we retained so many - oops 😂. I jokingly say we are pulling from the bottom of the barrel, but we actually are. We are bringing our does who didn’t show well for whatever reason in 2025 and this is their last chance as a junior doe. Out of the retained 15 kids from 2025, only 2 have not received an official leg. One toes out and we won’t show. The does we’ve been bringing are showing bred and very late in their pregnancy. I’m so proud of them because they are holding together fantastic and placing well.

Hindsight would have been to have left the Alpines at home, the goats we showed against in those rings were phenomenal. Wide, deep and thick!! We were last in the pack with Alpines. The Nigerian classes in normal fashion were huge classes. We feel honored that we have kids that have done so well. I feel like we have grown so much as a herd over the past 3 years. These ribbons confirm that our breeding program is headed in the right direction. Now we have all our fingers crossed that when these does kid they have udders that as fantastic as they are as juniors.
