๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ›๐Ÿฆœ๐Ÿฆ† Itโ€™s World Migratory Bird Day!

๐Ÿ‘€ Did you know that the birds you see returning to your communities might be coming from coffee farms?

๐ŸŒŽ When you drink Smithsonian Bird Friendly certified coffee, you are protecting critical habitat for hundreds of bird species including many migratory species you may see in your own backyard.

โ˜•๏ธ Weโ€™re proud supporters of the Smithsonian Bird Friendly certification, which guarantees each bean of coffee is grown in a way that protects important habitat for migratory birds.

Learn more about how you can help save migratory birds by visiting Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center.

Happy Earth Day ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’™โ˜•
We participate in the GrainPro and Neumann Gruppe USA recycling project, sending back all our used plastic hermetic bags for recycling. Roaster Paul has been folding and compressing them in anticipation of sending them off, and today, we packed our first 2026 shipment! Each of the two boxes that we filled weighed 50lbs and held approximately 150 bags for recycling.

Maryland Osprey & Nature Festival
We had a wonderful day of conservation, education and fun in North Beach yesterday. We were proud to be there serving Bird Friendly Coffee and spreading the word about preserving bird habitats locally, and abroad.

Thanks to everyone that came out and supported this great event and organization. ๐Ÿ’™โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿฆ…

โœจ We're thrilled to share the inspiring journey of our recent trip to Mexico!

๐ŸŒฑ Our team explored the breathtaking coffee-producing region of Nayarita, where we connected with the passionate Grupo Terruรฑo de Nayarita, Cafesumex and San Cristobal Coffee Importers. We witnessed the transformative impact of Bird Friendly coffee cultivation on local ecosystems and communities and learned what it takes to produce coffee in this region. With a rich harvest from the Cora peoples' lands, we're proud to support sustainable coffee practices that protect biodiversity.

๐Ÿฆช It's Chesapeake Oyster Week!
This statewide campaign, led by the Oyster Recovery Partnership, shines a spotlight on the essential role of locally harvested oysters. It's all about enjoying Chesapeake oysters, recycling shells for reuse in Chesapeake restoration efforts, and thanking watermen and farmers for harvesting the Bayโ€™s bounty. There are over 50 restaurants in the region offering oyster specials.

โ˜• And if you're not into eating oysters, there are other ways to show your support. Like coffee! We give back directly to ORP and their oyster restoration efforts. For every Oyster Reef item sold, we donate $.10, and while that might not seem like a lot, to date we've donated over $23,000, which has helped plant over 2 million oysters back into the Bay!

๐Ÿ’™ So join us, and slurp an oyster or a cup of coffee for a great cause!

Earth Day might be next month, but weโ€™re doing our part for the planet all year long. Paul & Tony always save all the plastic GrainPro bags and send them back for their recycling program. Thatโ€™s less waste heading to the landfill, and weโ€™re proud to be part of it. ๐Ÿ’™โ˜•๏ธโ™ป๏ธ

Excellence in Coffee. Excellence in Circularity. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Chesapeake Coffee Roasters serve specialty coffee with sustainability at its core โ€” carefully sourced, expertly roasted, and always ensuring every Hermetic Bag is recycled responsibly.

Is it still happy hour?
The Espresso martini has become a staple cocktail alongside classics like the Old Fashioned, Aperol spritz, and margarita. But it barely scratches the surface of coffee cocktails.

Earlier this month, Roaster Tony served as a judge at the National Coffee in Good Spirits competition in Seattle, which showcased bartenders and baristas competing in coffee-based cocktail challenges.

Head to our website and check out our latest blog post to read Tonyโ€™s recount of his experience and provide insight into the world of coffee competitions.
