Congratulations to Chance (best neighbor/boyfriend/handsome boy)!!
Single and ready to mingle.
Ellie Mae is a former bottle baby that identified as a goat. She now identifies as a 3 year old holstien that is looking for a man or a family that want an ###L dog. She is friendly, but has been running with the pasture cows.
Make me an offer I can't refuse for her.
Beatrice is looking for a new address.
Aged cow. She is an excellent mother. We have sold all of our cows, and she is the last of the big herd left (the buyer of the rest of the herd owns her bull calf from last year). She is easy to handle, load, feed, and even with a calf. She is easy. She is bred and due April/June of this year.
Make me an offer I can't refuse.
Recently, the decision was made to slim down the farm responsibilities. Sell a couple of horses, re-home a few extra animals, ask owners to find a place for their animals that lived here, and put a hold on any lessons.
It's made a few people mad, but the decision was made with a lot of thought put in it. We wanted the opportunity to spend this year moving in the new house, putting it together, enjoying the pool; we just wanted an opportunity to let the new wear off. We also wanted time to finish getting the hours in for the canine behaviorist certification.
Taking care of a farm full of animals is time-consuming; add in those unplanned vet visits, personal appointments that are part of life, winter 🤬 weather, contractors, and a dozen other things that happen in a day; It can get crazy some days!
Those that do it every day understand and have been amazing and supportive, and we appreciate you!
We deserve the break and look forward to enjoying the new home and pool.
Don't worry, we will be back at it soon!!
We are so close to getting to move in!!

To say it's been a hard day is putting it mildly.
Josie decided she had been around long enough and left me last night.
I have owned Josie since 2008. She was 12ish when I bought her back then.
She was my run like there is no tomorrow girl. She had more go than whoa, a pain in the ass to load, and she drove me crazy with her nasty attitude. She was obstinate all the time. But, she has been with me through a lot of highs and some deep lows in my life. I am still processing the loss. I am broken. The pasture isn't going to be the same without her.
**Rosco, Barrow pot belly pig. Identifies as a dog. Loves belly scratches and powdered doughnuts.
Too many people have been taught that the goal of Dog training is to achieve obedience, here’s some truth: The goal of Dog training is to learn how to be a better learners, better teammates, better at communicating together and to enjoy being a Dog, and sharing our lives with Dogs.
Guide, nurture, and shape, problem-solving flexible thinking Dogs.
It's been a long, hard journey.
Dogs are a commitment. Most are easy to handle and quick to learn, then there are some that need extra help. Kira has been a challenge. She is worth it.
Responsibility is the key. Horse ownership isn't easy; sometimes, you have to skip school to meet the farrier.
Every horse deserves to be owned by a little girl at least once in their lives!
Happy birthday, Kennedy! I know you will love him, and he will love you!
**he wasn't a new lesson horse 😁 that was me just keeping a secret
I see you out there, and I love you for every sacrifice you have made.
I've mentioned it before--I adore shooting elderly horses. Not so much for the actual horse--i love the grumpy dudes and dudettes who are stingey with their ears, of course--but my absolute adoration comes from the people behind every single grey hair. Every single dropped back. Every single ridge in a carefully managed foot.
I see you, old horse owners. I see the promise you made your old friend--that he'd never leave your side again, that he'd never have to worry about a next owner. That he'd never load on a trailer bound for the unknown.
I see the expense it takes in dollars and worry. The careful diet you obsess over, the careful turnout buddies and just the right pasture with the perfectly not-too-big rolling pit.
I see you beaming at your old horse--proud and happy they are still proud and happy, despite not having sat on their backs for sometimes decades.
I see you-sometimes barely scraping by with two horses, sometimes barely scraping by with one. I see what you've done--the bills you've paid month after month because your old friend is still happy to live.
I see the joy your old friend brings you when he tilts his head just this way, and the way he stands just inches from your hair-both of you breathing one another in.
I see your impending heartbreak for the day you may have to make that final decision. I see your internal struggle--is he happy? Is he ok? Am I keeping him around for him or me?
I see your tears thinking about that day, and the tears of joy reliving his youth.
To everyone with an old horse, I see you, and I respect and love you. 💕
With the change in our farm program, we are selling the mini moos.
5 zebu cows.
Would prefer to sell the herd but will price them individually.
These girls have not been halter broke or tamed. They run with our full size cows.
Possibly bred to our zebu bull (he isn't for sale)
Welcome Cheyenne to the DPF family!
It's a nice change.
It's a pain in the butt to work in.
It's Alabama weather 🤷♀️
With 2022 already busting through the door, change is in our future.
New year, new adventures!
We will always work with horses, but dog training is going to be part of DPF!
We have become part of an amazing team. Dog Trainer Wendy (Namaste Dog Training) has helped fuel this new passion.
Kira said the lawnmower seat is the best place to nap.
DPF is set up and ready to give Santa and his reindeer a place for a pit stop tonight. Their journey is long; we wanted to make sure he has plenty of cookies and milk for the trip. No worries, we left plenty of carrots and hay for the reindeer!
The pool is in at the house and full of water. The fence will be up as soon as the construction is closer to finished...
If your pups or ponies or bovine accidentally find their way to the pool, the ending might not be good.
We are HUGE animal lovers (yes, even though we eat burgers), and finding your pup or pony (whatever animal) in our pool will be just as traumatic for us as it will you.
New "Kid" on the block.
Let's see if he is lesson horse quality.
