LMT Ranch-Mini Herefords

For the first time since we started raising mini Herefords, we processed a steer that we raised. He was 26 months old, live weight was 850 pounds, hanging weight was 466 pounds, and we have 221 pounds of lean grass fed beef in the freezer. Last night we tried the ribeyes and the meat is delicious. The flavor and texture remind me of the Hereford beef I grew up eating.

LMT Abel came into the world in dramatic fashion last Wednesday. We had to assist momma Elsa, but both are doing great and here they are resting in the shade this morning.

LMT Texi Thunder is ready for his own pasture! Excellent, registered, show-quality horned bull. Thunder was born on March 29, 2025. He is by Tay Max (aka Texi) out of VSR Elizabeth (aka Liza--bred by Vanishing Spring Ranch--by RFD Strike zone out of VSR Violet). Thunder's maternal grandsire, RFD Strike Zone was the Summer Senior Division Champion of the 2015 NAILE and his paternal grandsire is the well-known champion SHF Disco Thunder! We gave Thunder his name because his markings are so similar to his grandsire's.
Thunder's sire is 46" and his dam is 44 1/4". They both have excellent, calm dispositions. Thunder is up-to-date on vaccinations.
He will make someone a great herd sire!

Her sire, Tay Max (aka Texi), measures 46" and her dam SL Snow Queen (aka Elsa) measures 45". Her paternal grandsire is past national champion, Disco Thunder. Mae's dam is of Splitt Creek Ranch breeding, going back to SS Turtle, who was also a champion. Her dam and sire both have excellent very calm dispositions. Mae is up-to-date on vaccinations.
