And this is what happens when you mix breeds in a coop! lol I’ve created my own soduccle breed with silkies and d’uccles. (No I’m not actually breeding to sell them). It will be interesting to see what they look like older. I’ve got 2 that appear to be full bred and 3 half breeds!

They’re always watching me! 😂😂 looked outside and saw Nugget up on the back deck. It’s a long way up from the ground. Chickens don’t fly, so I’m assuming she hopped up and back down the steps!

In addition to the chickens helping me with yard work, Libby decided the poinsettia on the back deck was past its season. She drug it down the stairs and left half in the yard. 🙄

Heard loud squawking at 11pm which alarmed me because hens don’t do that at night unless there’s danger. Ran out to find her in front yard. Lifted the porch board to find a possum eating her fertilized (and very stinky) eggs. We did chase him out but momma hen hid somewhere else and didn’t return to the few eggs left. No baby chicks for that hen…
