The boxes are now dipped. A hot (300 F) paraffin and microcrystalline wax bath was used to treat new brood boxes, promoting their preservation. The process involves moisture evaporation, enabling the wax to pe*****te the wood and enhance its resistance to degradation from environmental factors. Although this process is laborious and hot, it offers significant benefits over painting the boxes.
Thankfully Tony and Duane were able to troubleshoot the burner problem the night/morning before so we could dip before the rain.
