Following the dirt road, pulling weeds.

W**d influx from motor traffic & nature life on the mountain is inevitable. You’ll find us pulling over when we see the sage green stalks & pretty purple flowers of the prolific .

Without hesitation, we pull them up from their roots in hopes of catching up with their invasive nature. The roots exude a substance that inhibits growth of neighboring plants making it a fierce invader & they have a chemical smell that deters most herbivores (exception of goats).

We are making note of their GPS locations to harness better control for the next year. Looking forward, our goats will be strategically placed! 🐐 🌱

Three weeks ago, my amigos and I left Wyoming in search of nothing more than an experience.

Deep, off-the-grid Mexico is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Here, people truly embody community.

In the highlands, Indigenous families still farm the steep hillsides their ancestors have worked for generations. In the lowlands, hundreds of thousands of acres grow corn, barley, cabbage, avocados, and more.

But I can also see commodity agriculture creeping in—the seeds of Big Ag being planted in these ancient soils. The American model is not the path forward. Extraction takes from more than our soil; it takes from our souls.

Money will not fill the void within us. Knowing yourself might. Being surrounded by smiles, big hearts, and real community might.

Kids, don’t buy into the model America has embraced. It will leave you like a dumpling floating in cortisol soup, endlessly chasing more.

Old men have drawn lines across the earth and built a complicated matrix that keeps us divided—all in the name of security and comfort. But beneath our beliefs, borders, and skin, we are all the same.

Thank you, Mexico.
