Everyone wants us to change up the menu until we take off their favorite. 😂

We learned that when we took the Housemade Sausage Hash off the menu once. People were… not pleased. One reviewer was so disappointed she said she wouldn’t come back.

We brought it back a couple weeks later and I actually responded to let her know. To this day, I wonder if she ever saw it and came back. 🤔

GOOD NEWS! 🙌 We’re back.

Repairs are complete, the walk-in is cold again and we’re getting restocked as we speak. Jeff, Enn and John have been here this morning getting everything prepped and ready to go, and we’ll be OPEN TODAY at 11 AM. ♥️

Huge thanks to everyone who helped us get back up and running so quickly, and to all of you for the kind words and patience over the last couple of days.

Update: Repairs are underway, but unfortunately Dime Store will remain CLOSED Thursday, August 27, at least through the morning.

If everything goes according to plan, there is a chance we may be able to reopen sometime Thursday afternoon. 🤞 But there are still a few things that need to fall into place before we can make that call.

For now, please plan on us being closed Thursday. If we’re able to reopen, we’ll announce it here as soon as we know.

Well, this isn’t the post we wanted to make tonight. 😩

Our walk-in cooler has officially called it quits, so unfortunately Dime Store will be CLOSED tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26.

We’re working on getting it fixed as quickly as possible, but there’s a chance this could take more than a day. We’ll keep you posted here as we know more.

This is Doug. 🌱

Larry’s dad gave him to us when we opened Dime Store 12 years ago. Giving us a money tree was his thing when we opened a restaurant, and Doug was the first.

Doug lived at Dime Store for a while until he started looking pretty rough and Larry brought him home. That’s when I discovered his three trunks were still bound together with rubber bands. Two of them didn’t make it, but somehow this weird little guy did.

And he’s been through some stuff since. I’ve pruned him down to almost nothing more than once. He’s grown back. He’s gotten tall and gangly and a little Lorax-looking. He’s now almost five feet tall and has even given us two little baby Dougs. And I absolutely love him.

Today Dime Store turns 12. I look at Doug now and, weirdly, I kind of see us. He looks nothing like he did when we started. Neither do we. A lot has happened. Things haven’t always gone according to plan. But here we are, and I’m pretty damn proud of what we’ve become — knots, scars and all.

Happy 12th birthday, Dime Store. ♥️

You guys don’t seem to like salad posts. But hear me out: this chicken avo salad is the salad for people who know they should eat salad, but maybe aren’t psyched about it.

The inspo for this bowl came from a great spot in Holland, MI called Seventy Six. We liked their salad so much, we knew we had to create something similar for our menu.

Loaded with grilled chicken breast, avocado, housemade corn & bean salsa, roasted red peppers, queso fresco, tortilla strips & smoky ranch, this salad isn’t your typical bowl of lettuce. Try it. I think you might be surprised how satisfying it is. 💃🥗🫶

When someone who’s never been to Dime Store asks me what they should order, Duck Bop is my answer. ♥️

Duck Bop Hash has been on our menu since day one. Originally inspired by bibimbap, this dish can be… surprising (in the best way). The duck and potatoes bring the savory, the Korean BBQ sauce the sweetness, pickled veggies some tartness, and Sriracha the spice. And somehow it all just works. Even if you think you don’t like duck, this might change your mind.
