Yes, we’re here!

Getting to us might be a little tricky today with the VSU Homecoming Parade, but what a perfect excuse to slow down and take a stroll through beautiful, historic Old Towne Petersburg!

We’re hanging out next to our friends at Hillcrest Farm (seriously, isn’t their fall display gorgeous?!), and we’ve got all your fresh mushroom and microgreens needs covered!

Come enjoy a little autumn in Old Towne, support your local farmers, and take home something delicious!

We’re at River Street Market until noon!

We made a fresh delivery of microgreens to the Market at PPL yesterday. They are fully stocked with local, seasonal produce.

Last Saturday you all cleaned us out — we sold out of BOTH mushrooms and microgreens by the end of market! So come early for the best selection.

Empty shelves. That's what we're left with after Monday and Tuesday this week! Y'all really came out and shopped. Thank you!!! 💚

We will be getting in some fresh produce later this afternoon from All Good Things Farm: Tomatoes, cucumbers, squash and cabbage.

We also still have plenty of apples (5 varieties), winter squash (butternut, acorn, spaghetti & delicata), carrots, beets, red peppers, garlic, fresh ginger and fresh herbs. PLUS local meats, dairy, eggs, honey, baked goods, jams, snacks, seasonings and pantry staples.

My Mother In Law is famous! 💚💚💚

Yesterday was one of those market days that filled my cup. 💚

We sold out! Well… almost. We came home with exactly ONE container of radish microgreens — and those are mine! 😂 Mushrooms: gone. Microgreens: gone.

But even better than selling out was getting to see so many familiar faces, hearing that we were missed while we were on vacation, and being surprised by family who stopped by to see us.

And then something happened that I never could have expected.
My middle school English teacher, Mrs. Erickson, came to the market.
I hadn’t seen her since I was 14 years old — and she remembered me.

She was the encourager who made me feel like my writing mattered and helped deepen my love of literature during some very difficult years. Yesterday, I finally got to tell her that.

And here’s the crazy part: just a few days earlier, while going through boxes from my mother’s house, I came across this photo of the two of us.

And then, just days later, there she was in person — someone I hadn’t seen in 39 years.

Market days are about more than selling microgreens and mushrooms. They are about community and connection and being reminded that the kindness we give people can stay with us for a lifetime.

Thank you to everyone who came out, welcomed us back, bought us out, and made yesterday such a wonderful day.
