We talk a lot about how ornery adult yaks are, but the calves are just as tough - this little dude had me shaking in my boots!

In seriousness through, this kind of confidence comes from knowing mom isn’t far away. She definitely had her eye on me. If you see the yaks from the road (tag us in your photos please!) but stay at your vehicle and do not approach their fence line, for your safety and theirs 😊

Our most special girls (Patches, Pumpkin, & Cindy Lou Who) really hit copy/paste this year with their calves.

Patches’ and Pumpkin’s heifer calves, Vine and Evie (Hallow’s Eve), are the sweetest little mini-moos. They’ll grow up just as pretty as their moms!
While Cindy remains a “boy mom” - took weeks to catch Vlad Vladikoff standing still long enough for a photo.

Even though the first installment is already posted (here and on Jessy’s NextDoor account), we wanted to make an official announcement.
Beyond the Ranch Gate will be a blog/vlog series where Jessy takes you behind the scenes of ranch life, answers your questions, busts common myths, explains why we do what we do, and shares the stories that don’t always get seen from the road. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to learn about farming and ranching, ask questions, and have honest conversations with the people who raise their food.

We’d love your help too! Drop a comment below with topics or questions you’d like Jessy to cover. Nothing is off limits, if you’re wondering about it, chances are someone else is too.

You’ve been asking, so we answered: pre-pressed yak burger patties are here! 🍔 Simplify your next cookout, or keep a pack or two in the freezer for an easy weeknight dinner.

We’ll have a few packs with us at our farmers markets this weekend (Woodland Park Fridays - Old Colorado City Saturdays) but give us a shout if you’d like to place a special order for as many as you need!

Being part of Ryan Cheek Racing has been nothing short of an incredible honor. As lifelong motorsports fans, having the opportunity to sponsor this team and experience everything that goes into a race weekend has been an unforgettable experience.

Jessy has always been passionate about motorsports and has loved the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (Official Site) for years. She’s been cheering Ryan on since her very first run up the mountain, so being able to stand alongside the team this year felt like a dream come true.

Bob and Jessy even had the chance to sit in the Ford Racing FS500R and experience what a real race car feels like, and it’s safe to say they were absolutely grinning from ear to ear!

We’re incredibly grateful to Ryan and the entire team for welcoming us into the Racing for ALS family. Watching the dedication, teamwork, and determination behind every run has only deepened our admiration for what they do.
