Rittman Orchards is a family-owned fruit and vegetable farm and farm market in northeast Ohio. Growing the finest apples, peaches, strawberries, raspberries, sweet corn, pumpkins and much, much more since 1922. We offer u-pick on many crops seasonally, along with several festivals and family-friendly events.

PLEASE NOTE: NO UPICK STRAWBERRIES TODAY. We had to cancel them because not a berry was left after that crowd this past Tuesday. The plants need time to regenerate.

And probably not a lot of pre-picked strawberry quarts in the store either. I'm telling you, it was not a good year. Our pickers are usually done by 1pm.

But, look what's coming soon!!! My favorite (besides the black raspberries)! These taste like nothing you find in the grocery store. They are BURSTING with flavor. I can't wait to have them in the store and open for upick. Stay tuned!

PLEASE NOTE: WE HAD TO CANCEL UPICK STRAWBERRIES THURSDAY, JUNE 11th.

It's the raspberries turn to shine today! Upick red raspberries will be open starting at 9am and closing promptly at 1pm. Come to our parking lot at the market and you will see signs directing you to drive up to the shed near the berries. You can get buckets ($1.50) here. Cash or Credit accepted.

Price is $6.25/lb.

We are cancelling UPICK STRAWBERRIES on Thursday, June 11th.

We will have limited strawberry quarts in the store. There will be fresh picked raspberries in pints.

UPDATE! WE ARE CANCELLING UPICK STRAWBERRIES ON THURSDAY, JUNE 11TH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's finally official. We are hosting our Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 13th starting at 9am and ending at 2pm.
All activities will be at the market. All upick will be at the lower field. There is a DIFFERENT entrance to the upick field, meaning you CANNOT access the strawberry picking field from our market parking lot. Follow these instructions:
The ONLY entrance for upick strawberries this year is on Hatfield Rd. off of 94. If you are coming from 585, Hatfield Rd. is on your LEFT, BEFORE you get to the orchard. If you’re coming down 94 from Wadsworth, Hatfield Rd. is on your RIGHT, AFTER you pass the orchard.
Again, please NOTE, upick will stay open until 2pm OR until we RUN OUT OF BERRIES. Which ever comes first. Please check Facebook or our website before you come out. We post as soon as we are picked out.

HERE WE GOOOOOOOO! Upick strawberries starting today at 9am!!!!!! Ending promptly at 1pm, unless we get picked out earlier.

I have this feeling it's going to be EXTREMELY busy. I can almost promise you that. Please be patient and kind. The field looks really good. The berries are not as big this year because of nature, but there are a ton of red ones out there.

The ONLY entrance for this field is on Hatfield Rd. off of 94. If you are coming from 585, Hatfield Rd. is on your LEFT, BEFORE you get to the orchard. If you’re coming down 94 from Wadsworth, Hatfield Rd. is on your RIGHT, AFTER you pass the orchard. Once you drive down Hatfield, you will see HUGE, and I mean HUGE, flags marking the entrance to the upick parking.

NOTE: I DON'T PUT THE FLAGS UP at the driveway entrance UNTIL 8:30 am at the drive, so PLEASE DON'T come super early. You MAY NOT enter the field until 9am when we move the chain at the end of the drive.

Again, please NOTE, upick will stay open until 1pm OR until we RUN OUT OF BERRIES. Which ever comes first. Please check Facebook or our website before you come out. We post as soon as we decide to close the fields.

We will have quarts of pre-picked strawberries ($7.75/qt) in the market as well, but our pickers come in at 8am, so we don't always have them first thing in the morning. They need some time to pick, bring down and sort all the berries. We sort them all by hand to make sure we are getting you the best possible produce, but this takes time.

Strawberries: $3.80/lb
White Buckets: $1.50/each

You may ONLY pick in white buckets you have purchased from us in the past. Do not bring your own containers please.

RED RASPBERRY UPICK IS OPEN TODAY!!!! Come on out today starting at 11am. Upick will close promptly at 1pm.

A couple of hours to pick some delicious sun-warmed raspberries. They are $6.25/lb. Bring your white upick buckets from last year.

If your white bucket became a chalk bucket or rock collecting bucket like mine...you can purchase new ones from $1.50 at the shed. Please do not bring any other containers, we only allow upick into the white buckets. But once you buy one, you can bring it for ALL berry picking on our farm year after year.

Parking will be directed by a sign in our main parking lot leading you up a gravel hill to a shed where you will weigh and pay for your berries!

"Why are the strawberries so small this year?"

This is a question we are getting a lot right now.

It's from the frost damage the early varieties sustained. Strawberry plants have something called the "king blossom". This is the first, central flower to open in a strawberry plant cluster, yielding the earliest and largest fruit, often called a "king berry".

When these open and then are hit by extreme cold temperatures, like they were this past spring, they die. But the other smaller blossoms might not have opened...allowing them to protect themselves from the cold and develop into little strawberries.

That's why a lot of the berries at the moment are small.

The later varieties, like the ones we open for upick, might not be affected as drastically, since their blossoms opened later in the spring.

Despite the rain ruining the event today, there is still fun to be had at Bent Ladder Cider and Wine tonight!

True Roots BBQ is here from 4pm-9pm! Lots of good food for you to enjoy. The Cole Slaw is magic.

PAWS for the Wayne County Dog Shelter will be bringing back some amazing adoptable dogs this evening as well!!!

And starting at 6pm, Anthony Papaleo will be inside entertaining everyone with amazing music.

And big news!!! We got one puppy ADOPTED today at the Sip n' Sniff event this morning, which means it was a good day. Squash, who I posted a picture of early in the week has a new home. My heart is happy. :)

The puppy in the photo is Jody and she is adoptable at the shelter. :)
