Huge shout out to Heather Johnson with Crusin Critters for giving the rescue Britts a hunt cut for the season! They look so amazing! Thank you so much! If you’re in the Sierra Vista area, reach out to Crusin Critters for all of your grooming needs!!!! Ginger and Remi will be so happy with the lack of stuff getting caught in their coat this bird season!

The Bar King Bird Dog Rescue/Rehome Program has 2 mid-life French Brittany’s available for rehoming. Hunting home is an absolute must. 7 year old Male and 8 year old Female. Both are available at zero fault of their own. Owner found himself in the midst of a divorce and reached out to the bar king for help (exactly why we do what we do with rescue/rehome). Both former guide dogs here in southern AZ with extensive quail work. They do not have to go together. We are concentrating on finding the right home for these dogs, not just any home that will take them so if they can stay together great but they can be separated if only interested in one. They both are kennel dogs ready for a slow down and a comfy bed. If interested in Re*****on or Ginger or both please reach out to us! They both need a tune up.

Can be seen most days in the Sonoita area if interested. Will likely be bringing them to the Southern Arizona Quail Forever tune up Saturday at empire ranch as well! Let’s find these hunting dogs the right home!!!

*we are not a 501c3 and all expenses for all rescue/rehome work comes directly out of our own pockets. Feed, vet bills, birds for training (they will start tune ups now that they’re fully adjusted to their new environment), fuel to go get and often deliver dogs going through our rescue/rehome program, all expenses come out of our personal pockets (it’s honestly one of the biggest reasons we guide hunts. To cover these expenses). Donations are always welcome especially in the form of gift certificates to Desert Cross Veterinary Hospital to cover procedures and food.*

Pip was born and bred here at the Bar King. This girl has hunted 7 states plus Mexico, 7 species of birds, and made a run at VC all in 3 years and 4 days…. This is an impressive dog folks. Jake and Ann have gone above and beyond as owners. Thank you for taking such good care of our pup and showing her the world! Next year, that VC is yours!!!

D.R. Barbaloot Suits And Truffla Fruits aka Pip made a fantastic run at earning her VC. Sadly, there was a hiccup while heeling in mud and of all the things, that’s what cost her the title. Testing just days after turning 3, we couldn’t be prouder or happier with her and her owner/handler Jake. These two could take over the world together if they wanted. As a team they’re unstoppable. It’s gonna be a big year for or DukeXLuna pups in Missouri 2027! We will see you all there!!

Be sure to stop this fella and say hi if you’re at NAVHDA International invitationals! Representing both the Bar king and Dezert Rebelz Pudelpointers (DR Barbaloot Suits And Truffla Fruits aka Pip is running Saturday)! He is planting birds but will be around! I (Rebecca) am still in Montana. Unfortunately this weekend is also the days Virgie will be ready for breeding. I’m so bummed I’m missing invitationals and meeting everyone and getting to see our pup make her run! But Jason will do a fantastic job in my absence!!! Be sure to find the beard and say hi!!!

The first foundation litter born on the ranch have all turned 3! We cannot believe they’re already 3! All have achieved more than we could have hoped for already, but now this year in just a few days, Pip makes her run for Versatile Champion. The highest level test done by NAVHDA. And next year H***h makes his run (You have to qualify the year prior)! Every owner has become more like family than anything. We truly love everything about this litter. Happy birthday babies! We love you so much!

Baby Pierogi is doing big boy things! Training this morning at with Jason Rice! Living up our last days in Montana!

Baby Pierogi thinks that big scary fog is gonna get us! He’s good at protecting mom! Sadly? Jason has headed back to the ranch to relieve Lily of ranch duties so she can be a bridesmaid all weekend, and then he heads of to invitationals to cheer on our pup Dezert Rebelz Pudelpointers “Pip” and her owner Ann Jake Nyberg make their run at VC!!! I am remaining in Montana for a bit to finish up some business up here before heading south at the beginning of Oct! Rogi and the gang are keeping me busy!
