So a little bit about a lot a bits. New England is shrinking. West of us is at $12k - an acre for farmland. We hit it right and are continuing to grow this natural farm, non gmo, holistic landscape, We have partnered with numerous landowners and are working to regenerate their land. We have amazing aspirations of “owner rewards” coming into the next year and we strive to believe that our animals, the land we work are respected and rewarded. We want you to watch this video. This is up in Vermont’s. Ohio is already toast, Draw the line.., like and follow our adventure for the future of our family AND YOURS!

Just when you think you’ve got everything under control, Radar goes and pops out a baby. And you get the sled and you pull her into the barn with mama following again. And these wet, rainy, cold and windy conditions. We don’t have a choice, but to get them into the barn.

This is why we do checks every few hours in spring when it’s raining and cold!!! Our Bull is not with the ladies so this is the last year for this!!!! Choc Chip had her baby sometime between 9PM and midnight, assuming closer to 11 as she was very wet and mama was licking at midnight when I did my check. I called Lenny and we went into action, Lenny pulled the baby down the entire pasture with Mama following and put her in the barn stall I prepared yesterday. It’s 3am but mama and baby are doing good in the barn and we are finally back home headed to bed for a few hours!

Jill is travelling for work this week... She works 10 + hours a day for her employer... then does everything else... its crazy!!!... SO NOW WE have to figure out how to survive without her .... So here we go, boys and the farm rely on me....with the help of 4Cito’s Farm & Weber's Farm the animals all have to be taken care of! .(epic build up of orchestra music right about now!!!) So... Pizza Shop for dinner for the boys. Both Boys fed the bottle calves on their own, fed the dogs and cats on their own.. .Then attempted to feed the steers on their own 1/4 mile away from me as I sat in the truck with it running watching...they did amazing... drove the side by side by themselves all the way down there...I engaged and came in when I saw the steers charging them... but this is a lesson in learning for them. 's Farm has the hogs in check and 4Cito’s Farm watches over the mama cows... It takes a village folks... So God made a farmer.

As snug as a bug in a rug!!!! This little heifer is so sweet and tiny and mama Daisy is doing a great job. In these super cold temps even in the barn we leave a heated mat, they get a little jacket and tons of hay to snuggle in. It’s still cold out but I don’t see any shivers tonight and she looks to being good!!!

Today I was happy and sad. We said goodbye to Lilly and Black Raspberry as they found a new home at Mountain Road Farm. They will be very happy and get more attention and learn to be shown in 4H!!!! It was truly a blessing as NuNu the newest calf will take over their stall in the barn soon as a bottle baby, hopefully short term as we are hopeful Maggie will take her back. She thankfully has a good appetite today and seems to be doing well.
