BILL’S CORNER #3: Summer is finally here, and we’ve got some of our favorite warm weather beers and food returning to Light Years over the next few weeks.
We’re excited to bring back Lucy, our European-style blonde ale with soft bready malt character and a clean, refreshing finish. Tweeprise, our Cold IPA fermented with lager yeast for a crisp, hop-forward profile, as well as a brand new pale ale we’ve been working on, and of course, a fresh batch of Clone 6 coming soon.
On the food side, we’re planning to bring back some of our BBQ favorites and summer sides including Maple Bourbon Baked Beans, Tiger Style Mac Salad, Calabrese Pasta Salad, and Japanese Potato Salad.
We also just released our new Light Years Gift Coins. They’re great for gifts, buying a round for your buddies, or introducing someone to the brewery. On our busier nights, you can also purchase coins in advance and use them at the outside cash bar or the right side of the inside bar to help skip the line and get your drinks a little quicker.
We’ve also been brewing some smaller experimental batches lately, including our take on a traditional Polish smoked wheat beer called Grodzilla, a low-ABV, highly carbonated beer brewed entirely with oak-smoked wheat malt and Czech Saaz hops, sometimes referred to as “Polish Champagne.”
One of the things we want BILL’S CORNER to be about is sharing some of the brewing process and recipes with everyone, so we’ve included a scaled down 5-gallon home brew recipe of Grodzilla for anyone interested in trying something different at home.
Thank you all again for continuing to support what we do here. We’ve got a lot of exciting beers, food, and events planned for this summer and we can’t wait to share them with you.
Peace,
Bill
