If you know Eric DeBorde, you know God blessed that man with MANY talents. He’s frugal, a horse-trader kind of guy, and if there’s a way to barter, repurpose, save a dollar, or make something work… Eric will figure it out. 😂
To say he’s been saving, bartering, and dreaming about building another shop for quite some time would be an understatement.
Back in 2019, we moved a shop that eventually collapsed in a storm. But Eric? He saved EVERY piece of it. Because you just never know when you might need it. Those pieces eventually found a new life as a better barn.
We also joke that if you really want to get something done around here, just plan an event. Somehow, an upcoming event seems to “spur” Eric along. 😂
Well, last December, a wedding engagement came along… and apparently that was the PERFECT push.
And WOW… WE DID IT!
We have watched Eric pull this building straight out of his head and, piece by piece, basically build it himself. It's amazing what he can envision and then figure out how to make happen.
But we promise you, he did NOT do it alone.
We had SO many people jump in, learn new skills, stretch themselves thin, and work right down to the LAST minute to help make a few wedding dreams — and one BIG Eric dream — come true.
We’ll probably leave someone out, but we want to give a special THANK YOU to:
Brayden DeBorde, Brigham DeBorde, Abby DeBorde , Grady Lefler , and our employees — thank you for learning new skills, taking on whatever needed to be done, and giving it everything you had.
Brian Deborde , Harold & Bryce DeBorde and DeBorde Electric — thank you for all the help and hard work.
Michael & Melissa Dollar Ferguson — thank you for sending a crew to help finish the roof. That was HUGE!
And of course, Aunt Becca — Rebecca Huey — for helping reign in reality and turn “Eric’s shop” into an actual weekend wedding venue for our kiddos. 😂
We are truly amazed, incredibly blessed, and, if we’re being honest, wore smooth out!
But the moral of this true story is simple:
Anyone can do BIG things when they put their mind to it… write it down on a napkin… and keep dreaming about it.
Eric, you are one talented man. We're proud of you, proud of what you built, and proud that we get to enjoy and use some of your treasures from time to time.
Now… somebody remind me not to plan another event anytime soon. 😂❤️
