We love welcoming dogs on leashes, cats in strollers, and other animal companions at the market. The market is a place where people and their besties can enjoy the evening together.

TODAY is different.

With high heat, hot pavement, and heat index values expected near the upper 90s, we ask that you please leave dogs and other pets safely at home.

Pavement can become painfully hot very quickly, and animals cannot cool down the same way people can. On a day like this, home is the kindest place for them to be.

Service animals are always welcome.

Thank you for helping us keep market day safe for people, pets, vendors, and volunteers.

We love welcoming dogs on leashes, cats in strollers, and other animal companions at the market. The market is a place where people and their besties can enjoy the evening together.

Thursday is different.

The asphalt has already been cooking in today’s heat, and with an overnight low around 72°, it will not have much chance to cool down before another hot day.

With high heat, hot pavement, and heat index values expected near the upper 90s, we ask that you please leave dogs and other pets safely at home.

Pavement can become painfully hot very quickly, and animals cannot cool down the same way people can. On a day like this, home is the kindest place for them to be.

✦✦✦ Garlic scapes are here for a short season.

These curly green stalks have a lighter, fresher garlic flavor than cloves and can be used raw or cooked. Add them to stir-fries, sauté them with spring vegetables, toss them into salads, mince them into dressings, or make a bright scape pesto for toast, pasta, eggs, or roasted vegetables.

Before using, trim off the flower bud at the end of the stalk.

Garlic scapes and more are available from Riehm Produce Farm, LLC., Thursday, 4 to 6 pm, at the farmers' market.
