EXPERIMENTAL VAULT UNLOCKING: Our Wheated Bourbon, aged seven years in new oak casks, spent an additional 14 months finishing in Vino de Naranja casks sourced from Spain. Vino de Naranja is a Spanish fortified wine made from sun-dried oranges, and what it leaves behind in the wood is unlike anything you can find in Kentucky 🍊

On the nose: cream cheese icing, charred orange peel, salted caramel, and chamomile. The palate brings oxidized white grape, caramel chew, cinnamon red hots, and baked pear. The finish is long and unhurried: thyme, fig preserve, and dried ginger.

When we purchased this property in 2014, the Old Bottling Building still had its roof. It was in poor condition, but it was intact, and we believed we could save it. A severe storm came through shortly after and collapsed it before we ever had the chance.

What you’re looking at in this carousel spans 125 years. From building that very roof at the turn of the century to the height of E.H. Taylor’s production in it. By the time we found it in 2015, the floor had buckled and vines had started reclaiming the walls. After the storm, the roof that had survived over a century of Kentucky weather came down in a single night.

We’ve restored nearly everything on this property. This building is one monumental exception. The walls are still standing, and we’ve left them exactly as the storm did — an honest record of what we found here, and what this place has been through to still be standing at all.
