Last Friday we served nine returning families.

We are very low on the following items at this time:

Jellies and jams
Saltines
Graham crackers
Olive oil
Canola/vegetable oil
Flours
Sugars
Rolled oats
Canned pineapple
Mustard
Mayo
Salad dressings
Instant mashed potatoes
Teas
Coffee
Cookie/quick bread/cake mixes
Frosting
Baking soda
Baking powder
Pie fillings like apple, cherry
Seasonings, herbs, and spices

We would like to remind everyone who would like to make a donation that we currently only accept item donations during pantry hours, Fridays, 2pm - 4pm, second Saturday per month, 10am-12pm, or by appointment. Do NOT leave items outside building.

The Greater Franklin Food Pantry gratefully accepts both item (food, drinks, personal care, etc.) and monetary donations. Please note that we do NOT accept expired or recalled products, heavily dented or damaged packages, or opened items. We also do not accept clothing.

Monetary donations can either be dropped off during open hours, mailed, or submitted online at greaterfranklinfoodpantry.org.

The Greater Franklin Food Pantry is located in the Franklin Railroad and Community Museum’s Farmhouse Community Center at 574 Main Street, Franklin.

We are open to all Franklin and Treadwell residents who are in need of food. During your first visit we will ask that you complete a simple form, and then you are able to visit us, as needed, once per month.

Ticks can carry Lyme and other illnesses, so knowing how to remove one safely is key. If you find a tick, use pointed tweezers to grasp it by the head or mouthparts—as close to the skin as possible. Pull upward with steady, even pressure without twisting or jerking. Once removed, thoroughly clean the bite area with rubbing alcohol or soap and water.
