Meet the Faces Behind the Ranch

If you’ve stopped by our farm stand, picked up a dozen of our eggs, had us do a fence for you, followed along with our animals, or seen one of our many farm projects online… you’ve probably gotten to know a little bit of Freedom Ranch Cattle.

But we thought it was time you got to know the two people behind it all.

We’re Cody & Katrina, husband and wife, parents of four beautiful kids, ranchers, and probably a little bit crazy for taking on everything we do. 😂

What started as a love for raising our family around animals and healthier living has grown into so much more. From cattle and chickens to pigs, ducks, fencing, firewood, farm projects, our farm stand, and everything in between, there’s rarely a quiet day around here!

We’re not a big operation with a huge team behind the scenes. Most days, it’s just the two of us figuring it out, working hard, learning as we go, and building something we can be proud to pass down to our kids.

There are long days, muddy boots, early mornings, late nights, projects that never seem to end, and plenty of moments where we wonder what we got ourselves into. 😅 But there are also so many moments that remind us exactly why we do it.

We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who supports our little farm, whether you buy a dozen eggs, hire us for a fencing project, stop by the stand, share our posts, or simply follow along with our crazy life.

So, hi! 👋🏼 We’re Cody & Katrina.
Welcome to Freedom Ranch Cattle. 🤍

Our evening tradition is collecting eggs, getting them into cartons, and restocking the egg stand!

We always take out what’s already in the stand first and make sure everything is organized by the date it was collected, so the oldest eggs are always going first.

We definitely have our slow days, but rest assured that all of our eggs are sold within a week of going into the stand. If anything doesn’t sell within that time, we pull it from the stand and either use it ourselves or feed it back to the animals. That way, you can always count on getting FARM FRESH eggs when you shop with us!

Thankfully, we rarely have to feed any back, and that’s all thanks to the amazing communities we’re lucky enough to be a part of. 🥹

Thank you for continually supporting our little farm, our egg stand, and our family. It truly means more than you know! 🤍

In order to keep our eggs nice and clean, we periodically go through and clean out the nesting boxes!
Despite our best efforts, some of the girls insist on sleeping in their nesting boxes and we've got a couple of broody hens right now, too. Add in the occasional cracked egg that ends up getting all over everything, and those boxes can get pretty messy!
So we make sure we're regularly cleaning them out and power washing the nesting pads.
Keeping the nesting boxes clean means we can keep our eggs clean, too and let's be honest, no one wants p**p in their house.
Just another one of those not-so-glamorous farm chores that helps us provide you with nice, clean, farm-fresh eggs! 🤍

Just a few snapshots from our trail camera last year!

Can you pick out what each animal is??

Should I make this a new little game and start sharing more trail cam finds? 😂 I’m just glad most of these guys like to stay wayyyy in the back of the property because I’m perfectly happy admiring them from a distance! 🤣

How many can you identify?

There’s something so special about sitting down for dinner knowing that almost every single part of it came from right around us. 🥹🤍

Tonight, thanks to a bunch of fresh vegetables a friend gifted us, we were able to make our entire dinner completely farm fresh. Every vegetable and potato came straight from a local garden, and the meat was backstrap from a deer my husband harvested this past season.

It just makes my heart so happy knowing we can provide this kind of food for our family. No worrying about recalls, salmonella, or any of that jazz… just good, wholesome food that we know exactly where it came from.

And my favorite part? Doing it together. The twins absolutely love helping with any part of dinner they can, and watching our kids learn where their food comes from and be involved in preparing it is something I’ll never take for granted.

This is the kind of life we’ve always wanted for our family. Simple, wholesome, and together. 🤍

There’s just something so special about raising kids around animals. They get to experience the excitement of new life, the responsibility that comes with caring for something smaller than them, and unfortunately, sometimes the hard parts too. They’re learning that animals aren’t just something you see in a book or at a petting zoo, they’re part of our everyday life. They’re messy, loud, unpredictable, and sometimes a whole lot of work… but they bring SO much joy. 🥹🤍

One of my favorite parts of this lifestyle has always been all the babies. There’s just nothing quite like walking outside and finding another tiny face waiting for you. But what makes it even better is watching my babies grow up loving it just as much as I do.

The excitement on their faces when they get to hold a piglet, check on a new baby, feed an animal, or simply sit and watch them is something I hope they never outgrow. 🥰

Someday they may not remember every single animal we had or every little moment on the farm, but I hope they remember how it felt to grow up here. The muddy boots, the early mornings, the baby animals, the chores, the chaos, and all the little moments in between.

This is the kind of childhood I dreamed of giving them. And getting to experience it alongside them makes it even sweeter. 🤍

I’m not a content creator!! 😂

I’m just a regular mom, wife, and business owner trying to make a living and get our names out there! I cannot keep up with the “content creator life” of posting multiple times a day, every single day. My life is way too busy to revolve around social media.

But I’m also not blind to the fact that social media is one of the biggest ways to get our name out there and bring in business. So here I am, trying my best to balance it all. 😅

If you understand the struggle of trying to keep up with social media while also just trying to keep up with LIFE, please know you’re not alone! 🤍

Multiple businesses under this roof + four kiddos = we are BUSY, busy, busy. 😂

Some days I’m posting. Some days I’m working behind the scenes. Some days I’m chasing kids, feeding animals, editing photos, answering messages, or just trying to make it through the day.

And honestly? I’m okay with that.

I’ll keep showing up when I can, sharing our life and our businesses along the way, and doing my best to make it all work🤍

Didn’t have time to clean my camera lens off on my phone, but I couldn’t miss this adorable shot. Two babies sitting on two mamas! Not every day you catch a picture like this. 🥹

I’m definitely ready for these mamas to stay out from under the coops so we can finally block them off, though! 😅 I’m not a fan of crawling under there to remove ticking time bombs. 🙈😂
