STORY TIME! 😅
So funnily enough, last night I jokingly told Cody not to wake me up at 6:30… apparently that’s where I went wrong. 😂
At 6:38 this morning, I woke up to a phone call: “The cows are allll out.”
I jumped out of bed and headed for the door, but our youngest woke up first. Quick detour to turn on some Paw Patrol and hope it kept him occupied while I helped round up cows.
By the time I made it outside, Cody had everyone back in the pasture except for one mama. She refused to come in because her calf was missing.
So the search began.
Three hours later, after covering field after field and being incredibly thankful for technology that let us check in on the kids through Alexa while we searched, we still hadn’t found the baby. We finally decided we had to give up and get on with the rest of our busy day after already “wasting” three hours searching.
Not even 20 steps later, the calf stood up to readjust! 🙌🏼
Poor Cody had to carry that calf all the way back to his mama, but we finally got him reunited, tagged, and safe where he belonged.
And the best part? Lily got to tag her very first calf! The worst part? I missed it on video😭 when i accidentally started the video when i thought i was ending it.
