Hey Folks, I’ll be at the Salem, NH Farmers Market tomorrow with some fresh eggs and limited frozen goodies (Brease, duck, chicken) to hold you over until NEXT week when I’ll have FRESH duck and chicken and maybe a bit of rabbit!

Fresh duck and Bresse chicken tomorrow at the Salem, NH Farmers Market. First of the season! I am out of the regular chicken breast FYI. More chicken breast late June / early July.

There are still a few spots left for the Rabbit Farming Workshop tomorrow/ Wednesday 5:30 to 7:30 at the farm. This is a perfect time of year to see all aspects of raising rabbit for meat and hides. Tasting of rabbit too!

Learn and observe the basics at a working farm including housing, hutch options, predator protection, feed basics, health and biosecurity, handling, slaughter overview, meat and pelt sales and strategies, regulations and more. Includes handouts and rabbit meat tasting.

Fresh chicken tomorrow at Salem, NH Farmers Market! Fresh eggs too. This time of year there’s some really angry birds that guard your eggs. Proof shown here! I’m bigger than them though so you still get eggs tomorrow.

Goose update! It’s a win!! Imprint in the right place. I’ve been hands off for a couple of days now. So far it’s going great! Next is sleeping arrangements.

Goose update! So the two hatched OK and my new ones are in. Everyone is together but they’re still trying to figure out where to imprint. I try to ignore them, but also keep an eye on them. Yesterday the older geese took good care of them. Hoping this will work out the way it should with the current flock naturally fostering the newbies. Here’s hoping!

Farming is one of those careers that requires sticktoitness. I have a new breed of geese coming this week, but I gave these pilgrims three years to work things out. I’m not ready to give up my old flock yet as I hope they will adopt the new geese. It’ll be interesting, no doubt I will make some mistakes , but I’ll certainly learn from them and have fun along the way!
