Visit our gift shop, garden center and cafe. Originally a strawberry and melon farm in the 1920’s and 30’s, Lavender Ridge Farms is now home to a field of 1000 lavender plants, a walk through butterfly garden, several aviaries housing different birds, some farm animals and a ringtail lemur family. We invite you to visit our farm, have a lavender lunch in our café or bring a picnic. Shop our unique

gift shop that includes all of our handmade bath and body products plus enjoy shopping our plant nursery specializing in hardy perennials, lavender plants and seasonal color. The farm is staffed by knowledgeable friendly folks eager to talk to you. Spring 2022 we have renovated our lavender planting for future beautiful blooms. The original plants were on their seventh year and succumbed to the last two brutal winters and heavy spring rains. We will keep this page and our website updated on the progress of our new lavender plantings and the expected season for cutting. We look forward to your visit as the beauty changes monthly! Farm and Cafe are open March - October.

It’s going to be a beautiful weekend for celebrating Juneteenth and Father’s Day! Come enjoy the great outdoors, have a delicious lunch and check the beauties in the nursery and gift shop! The butterfly garden is popping with color right now for great photography. Painted Buntings very active lately, with sightings in the gardens and at the bird baths. Several heat loving plants in the nursery currently including Fignomenal dwarf figs and Muscadine grapes.

Here we are in mid June already! I’m grateful for the milder weather we’ve been having and it’s a great time to get your pots planted with sun, loving blooms, and perennials established in your beds. We have a great selection here this weekend, including Hardy hibiscus, volcano, bush, El Niño Chitalpas, Fignomenal patio figs, Pretoria cannas and many more. Come have a freshly made lunch under the shade of the trees, walk through the butterfly garden and see the gift shop and nursery.

As I mentioned last week, we have been checking the lavender but it doesn’t look like we are achieving and spikes for cutting. Mild winters aren’t good for setting blooms. We have many other beautiful things to see here and beautiful nursery full of gardens gems. Come out and have a delicious lunch, walk through the butterfly garden, see the critters and get your favorite products in the gift shop.

We’ve had our eyes on the lavender suspecting a later bloom time than the normal early June bloom. However, it doesn’t look like there will be blooms due to the extremely mild winter we experienced this past winter. Chilling hours during the winter have shown us to be pertinent to a good show of blooms. We will continue to monitor for any evidence of spikes emerging and will post if we see them.
This weekend we have a nice selection of perennials and annuals for your garden including 6 different hardy hibiscus, El Niño Chitalpas, Volcano Bush (Lespedeza) and many more. Come out and have a peaceful lunch under the canopy of trees, check out the gift shop and nursery. Visit the lemurs and stroll the butterfly garden too!
