Let’s talk about summer tray cleaning.
What do you all do to help?
Keep your rabbitry, clean and help your rabbits from getting fly strike?
In my barn in the summer through fall, I use a spa liner, on top of that I put a pine pellet that will absorb any wetness from urine or them spilling their water dishes. The next step I put stall dry to help also absorb the ammonia smell and then my last step is I use DE red Lake earth. De Red Lake earth helps if a fly, decides to lay their eggs on my spin liner. They will walk through that and they will die.
I also have some big fans running, rabbits need to have clean air movement with ammonia that they produce in their urine.
If a pan gets really dirty, I use a very light cleaner of thieves cleaner from young living that also helps with flies. They hate the cinnamon lemongrass smell, and Teatree oil then I re-put a liner on the tray.
If anybody has any other tips, let’s post them to help all of us out because Summer is here and it’s going to be hot!
