446M has found a home with Wayne ross and Patricia Krause, and we are excited to see what he does for his new operation. A Lock N Load son out of a Patriot x Germaine dam with top 7% yearling weight and top 6% scrotal circumference is the kind of bull that does not last long, and he did not.

If you were watching 446M and did not get to him in time, we still have bulls in this pen that will do the same job. The Lock N Load influence is represented elsewhere in our offering, and we have bulls that will add frame, length, and fertility to your cow herd this breeding season. Video is available on the remaining bulls. Reach out to Tyson at 979-324-6659 or Billy Stein at 979-200-1300, or visit svrtx.com and we will get you what you need to make a decision before you make the trip to Gause.

Private treaty, first come first served. Inventory is moving. We still have bulls available.

Thank you to Cholanda Ainsworth for purchasing SVR Mrs Germaines Fargo 075H from the Red River Collection Sale. 075H is a flushmate sister to 924G, carrying the same Sparrows Fargo sire and the same M6 New Germaine 5150 P ET dam. She is as close to a genetic mirror of 924G as you will find, and Cholanda made a sharp move in recognizing that. We are looking forward to seeing what she produces and what her Kill Shot calf looks like on the ground.

The conversation around our red bulls tends to start with what they can do for a calf crop, and that is a fair place to start. But the maternal angle is where I think the long-term value shows up most clearly.

The Charolais/Red Angus cross produces replacement heifers that combine Charolais growth and carcass depth with Red Angus maternal efficiency and adaptability. We have seen that combination work on our own operation and in bull sales across the country. A heifer out of one of these bulls and a well-selected commercial Angus or Brangus cow is going to have the frame to wean a heavy calf and the disposition and fleshing ability to breed back on schedule in a central Texas summer. That is a cow that stays in your herd.

If you are thinking beyond next year's calf crop and building a cow herd that performs for the next decade, the maternal case for a Charolais/Red Angus cross bull is strong. We have five of them available this spring, developed on grass and oak pasture here in Milam County and ready to go to work. Video is available. Visit svrtx.com to learn more.

We want to thank Kyle Reaves for taking home SVR Ms Fargo 924G P from the Red River Collection Sale. 924G was the female we highlighted most throughout this campaign, and for good reason. She is a Sparrows Fargo daughter out of M6 New Germaine 5150 P ET, one of the most influential donor cow families in the Charolais breed, and she has donor written all over her. Kyle recognized what she is capable of, and we are excited to see what she produces for his program. She went to the right home.

Our mission at Spring Valley Ranches is Excellent Cattle. Nutritious Beef. Responsible Stewardship. The first two are easy to talk about. The third one deserves more explanation than it usually gets.

Stewardship at this ranch means three things. It means taking care of the land, which starts with how we develop our cattle. We ask our bulls to learn forage resources before they ever leave this place, and we manage our pastures with the same long-term thinking we bring to our genetics. It means taking care of the cattle, which shows up in the disposition work, the nutritional program, and the selection decisions we make every single year. And it means taking care of our customers, which is the part that does not always make it into a mission statement but matters the most to us in practice.

A producer who buys a bull from us and gets a bad outcome is not a success story regardless of what that bull's EPDs said on paper. We want the cattlemen who work with Spring Valley Ranches to run more profitable operations because of the genetics they bought here. That is what responsible stewardship looks like from our side of the fence, and it is the standard we hold ourselves to every time we make a sale.

The Red River Collection Sale was at the end of April, and we have been meaning to properly thank everyone involved since we got back. The short version is that we are incredibly grateful, and the longer version involves a few stories that Hayden will probably hear about for the rest of his life.

The weekend was just the two of us, a three and a half year old and his dad, hauling six cows and making it work. I want to thank everyone at the sale who was patient with us and helped keep an eye on Hayden when my hands were full. That kind of community is not something you take for granted, and it did not go unnoticed.
We also had a trailer tire blow out on the highway with a heavily loaded trailer, which led to a full set of new tires and Hayden getting an unexpected lesson in roadside mechanics. And somewhere along the way, he decided my cell phone looked like a pool toy, which resulted in an emergency trip to Verizon. It was that kind of weekend.

But here is what made all of it worth it. Our lots performed exceptionally well. Spring Valley Ranches was the high selling consignor with the split pairs, and the response to the females we offered was genuinely humbling. These were cattle we debated offering right up until sale day, and to see them received the way they were means a great deal to this program and to our family.

Thank you to everyone who bid, bought, and supported our consignment. Thank you to C**t Keffer and his team for putting on a first class sale. And thank you to the folks who helped a guy juggle six cows and a three and a half year old for an entire weekend. We will not forget it.

One of the things that separates a good seedstock program from a great one is the willingness to invest in genetics at the top of the pyramid and let that investment filter down through every calf that hits the ground.

That is the thinking behind our donor program at Spring Valley Ranches. The M6 females we acquired at the dispersal, the Patriot x 380 flushmates we have been stacking for half a decade, the Legacy cows we have retained from over 200 registered females selected over 30 years, these are not just cow herd additions. They are the foundation that determines what every bull and heifer we offer is capable of becoming.

The cow in this photo is a good example of what that looks like in practice. SVR Cooley Cut 421P is one of our Legacy cows, a female who earned her way into the donor pen as a 12 year old cow back in 2016. Ten years later, we still have daughters of hers in production and embryos in storage. That is what a great cow looks like over time, and that is the standard we hold our donor program to.

When you buy a bull from Spring Valley Ranches, you are not buying a bull out of an average commercial cow. You are buying a bull whose dam was selected because she is the kind of female that other programs are building their entire herds around. That is not something every program can say, and it is not something that happens by accident. It is the result of making the right investments at the top and having the patience to let them pay off at every level below. That is what Excellent Cattle means to us, and it is why we think it matters for your operation too. Learn more about our program at svrtx.com.

I want to take a minute to explain why we made the decision to develop Charolais/Red Angus cross bulls here at Spring Valley Ranches, because it is a question worth answering with more than a one-line response.

The cross was a deliberate choice built around what we know works in central Texas cow herds. Charolais genetics bring muscle, growth, and carcass merit that shows up at the sale barn and on the rail. Red Angus brings maternal efficiency, heat tolerance, and fleshing ease that keeps cows productive in a demanding environment. When you combine those two breeds intentionally, out of females selected for functionality and a program with 30 years of selection behind it, you get a bull that can improve your calf crop across multiple traits simultaneously.

We have seen the results of this cross work on our own operation and in bull sales across the country, and we feel good about what these bulls will do for the producers who take them home. They are not a departure from what Spring Valley Ranches stands for. They are an extension of it. Video is available on each one.

A ranch runs on the people who show up every day, and I want to take a minute to properly introduce the person who makes Spring Valley Ranches operate the way it does.

Billy Stein came to central Texas in the late 2000s with his wife Miranda and their sons Cayden and Clayton, leaving feedlot work in Kansas to join a Charolais and Angus seedstock operation in this part of the state. When I made the transition to take over from my dad in 2021, bringing Billy on as ranch manager was one of the first and best decisions I made. He lives on the ranch, handles the day-to-day operation, and has genuine input into the strategic and genetic direction of the program. This is not a hired hand situation, Billy is a partner in what we are building here.

What makes Billy particularly valuable to our customers is the depth of what he brings beyond daily ranch work. He has a real interest in advanced reproduction, including AI, ET donor setup, and pregnancy checking, which is a resource our customers can tap into. Cayden and Clayton grew up showing Charolais and are now deep in the Texas rodeo circuit, and that collective experience across the family is a direct reason our cattle develop the quiet, calm dispositions we are known for.

Beyond the ranch, Billy volunteers with the Gause Volunteer Fire Department and has pastored the First Presbyterian Church in Cameron. He is the kind of person you want on your team and the kind of neighbor you want in your community.

We have gotten a few questions about the red bulls in our pen, and I want to address them directly because these are not an afterthought.

The five Charolais/Red Angus cross bulls we developed this spring came out of an intentional breeding decision, not a byproduct of our registered program. We crossed specific Red Angus genetics onto Charolais females selected for the same traits we look for in our purebred offering, and the result is a set of bulls that fit a producer who wants Charolais performance with a more moderate color profile and some added heterosis in his cow herd.

These bulls are AICA registered, developed on grass and oak pasture in Milam County, and supplemented through Livestock Nutrition Center the same way our purebreds are. They are not a second tier of cattle. They are a different tool for a different operation, and the producers who understand that will find real value in them.
