Dancing for a Bigger Purpose
Asking for donations and “rounding up” has become such a common thing these days. Even the biggest corporations ask you to round up at the register. Between tipping, donations, and rounding up, it sometimes feels like everyone is asking for just a little more.
So when the YES House Foundation approached us about competing in the upcoming Dancing with the Gillette Stars, we knew we wanted to be involved in a bigger way than simply providing cake pops like we have in the past. We were excited to jump in and get to work!
We were welcomed with a firsthand tour of the YES House and got to learn about everything they do, the youth they serve, and the many ways this event directly impacts our community. After seeing it for ourselves, we realized something:
We don’t just want to compete in this dance competition. We want to help make this event one for the books.
This year is especially meaningful because it marks the 50th anniversary of the YES House Foundation. We are incredibly honored to compete alongside two other couples who also own and operate local businesses right here in Gillette.
Yes, we may be competing against each other on the dance floor, but at the end of the day, we’re all dancing for the same reason.
We want to raise as much money as possible for the YES House Foundation so they can continue providing the support, opportunities, and resources that help the youth in our community thrive.
Because those kids are our future.
They are the next generation of employees, entrepreneurs, community leaders, parents, and local business owners who will help make Gillette an even better place to live.
And this is where we need your help.
So when you see us asking you to round up or asking for a contribution to the All Mighty Dollar, we understand. We know it can be annoying to constantly be asked for just a little more. We know everyone has their own bills, budgets, and causes that matter to them.
But we also hope you’ll remember what that little gesture can mean.
A few extra dollars might not feel like much to you, but it could help build a young person up. It could help give them an opportunity, provide a safe place, give them support when they need it, or help them believe in themselves and their future.
That’s what makes this different.
We aren’t just asking you to give us money.
We’re asking you to invest in the next generation of our community.
So while we’re going to have a whole lot of fun learning how to dance, we’re taking this seriously when it comes to the reason we’re doing it.
We’re here to dance. We’re here to compete. But most importantly, we’re here to raise some money for the YES House.
Let’s make the 50th anniversary something they’ll never forget. ❤️
