There are different kinds of leaders.

Some sit behind a desk pounding their fist, demanding results while blaming everyone around them when things go wrong. They issue orders, criticize the people doing the work, and expect respect because of a title.

Then there are leaders who lace up their boots, climb into the ditch with the crew, and face the problem head-on.

That’s my style of leadership.

I believe leadership means understanding the work, identifying the real problem, and helping build the solution. You can’t expect people to give their best when leadership refuses to stand beside them in the hard moments.

The best leaders don’t just demand results.
They create them.

They listen.
They work.
They solve problems.
And they earn respect by action — not position.

Whether it’s infrastructure, public service, business, or community work, I will always choose to be the kind of leader who shows up and gets involved instead of standing on the sidelines pointing fingers.
