Fair Week may be over, but around here, the work just kicked into high gear. 🍀🥩

For the 4-H exhibitors, families, advisors, and all the people who work behind the scenes to make fair week happen, we know just how much time, heart, and hard work goes into it. We’re proud to play a small part in what makes our local fair so special.

For us at K&L, our Fair work started bright and early Sunday morning when we hauled out over 80 animals to slaughter and process!

It’s been a busy couple of days. Cooler is starting to get full with 43 animals already hanging! Our crew has been working their tails off to keep everything moo-ving. To those who don’t know, we’re a small shop with just a handful of guys doing the work. So, what they’ve accomplished in the last two days is pretty incredible.

Every year, more and more families/businesses trust K&L to process their purchases from the Lorain County Junior Fair Board livestock auction and that means more to our little family than you probably realize.

From our family to yours, thank you for keeping K&L busy and allowing us to be a part of your Fair Week tradition. We’re grateful to be right here, working hard and serving our community. Whether you brought your animal to us, recommended us to a friend, or simply support our little business - we appreciate you. ❤️

To our guys, hats off to you. You’ve been absolute animals these last couple of days, and we appreciate the heck out of you!

Ps don’t worry, next generation is making sure to keep the animals comfortable and wellllll fed. 🤩😂

Congratulations to your grand and reserve swine carcass class champions! It’s always a pleasure! And to the other exhibitors you all did a fantastic job as well!! Keep up the great work!! Thank you again to the swine committee for choosing use to slaughter and process these animals! We appreciate your support!

🚘 Traffic instructions 🚘

Please form 2 lines in front of the shop so no one is blocking the state route. People in vehicles not pulling livestock trailers can park in the front yard if needed so we can keep the flow of trucks and trailers going without causing a traffic jam

🚨 Processing instructions 🚨

Everyone stop at the table to check in, please know your ear tag number and have your buyers information and cutting instructions ready

•If you are using K&L- have someone go inside and leave cutting instructions

•If using Keller’s or Mohler’s- you can drop off and call them with instructions

🌟 Make sure your drug form is correctly completed by 3pm (use exhibitors CURRENT AGE) confirmation will be sent to your email 🌟

It's that time of year!! If you or someone you know who is a 4-H exhibitor requires assistance transporting their projects to the fair, please notify us!! We will provide complimentary pickup and drop-off services for the fair!! Be sure to contact us to reserve a spot on the list!! Let's have a great 2026 fair season!!

Effective May 1st, 2026, the processing price for beef will be $0.90 per pound. The processing price for pork and lamb will be $0.85 per pound. Slaughter fees will remain the same until further notice. Thank you for your continued support.
