Today we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave everything for this country. From General George Washington leading patriots through the hardships of the Revolutionary War, to the muddy trenches of World War I, to the beaches of Normandy on D-Day during World War II, to the jungles of Vietnam, the mountains of Afghanistan, and every battlefield where Americans have defended freedom — liberty has always come at a price paid by American heroes.
As a farmer, Memorial Day means something deep to me. Every morning I wake up blessed to work the land, raise a family, and live under the freedoms that so many heroes fought and died to protect. While we gather with loved ones today, we must never forget the empty seats at tables across America because a son, daughter, father, mother, brother, sister, or friend never made it home.
We honor those who answered the call without hesitation. The ones who carried our flag into battle knowing they might never see home again. Their sacrifice built and protected the America we know today.
To all who served, thank you. And to the fallen — we will never forget you. Your courage lives on in every small town, every waving flag, every family farm, and every free American life.
And as we remember the fallen today, please keep the brave men and women still serving and standing in harm’s way around the world in your prayers as well.
May God bless our fallen heroes, their families, our military, and the United States of America. 🇺🇸
