First off Heather and I are completely fine as of now!

This is going to be a post about there are still good people in this world!

Heather and I catered a wedding out by Fairmont tonight, as I was bringing her home in Mankato a young man blew a red light and hit the side of the truck! To hear the accident you would have thought my truck would have been in really bad shape, somehow by the grace of God it seems like his car hit mostly the tire. And as of now it doesn't look like there's much of an issue but you never know. Unfortunately his car is probably going to be totaled!

Now the main reason for this post. This young man college student, took responsibility instantly, he didn't try to make excuses he just said "I screwed up I ran a red light I'm so sorry." Too often these days people always try to make excuses and don't accept responsibility! At that point that kid had my respect. I even was trying to convince the police officer not to give him a ticket for running a red light. But I failed unfortunately.

Also it seems like when there's situations a lot of people don't want to stop and help. We had one lady who ran across traffic who was a first responder, wanting to check and make sure we were all okay. As we were waiting for the police to arrive we had no less than five people stopped to ask us if we were okay if there's anything they could do one even offer the young man a ride home!

We see so much negativity posted online every single day, I wanted to post about this to show that there is still people out there willing to be good humans! I'm not sure if I knew any of the ones who stopped to ask if we were okay. But if you happen to see this I just want to say thank you!

Believe it or not, the calls are already coming in! In 2026 alone, I’ve handled 800+ phone calls, Facebook messages and emails about events, catering and getting Scotty Biggs BBQ to your location.

And now the bookings are rolling in for 2027 and even 2028! 🤯

So if you’re thinking about having Scotty Biggs BBQ at your wedding, graduation, company event, private party, fundraiser, fair, festival, community event, or any other special event, I wouldn’t wait until the new year to reach out. Dates are already starting to fill!

That is a wrap for CornFest in ortonville! For me this is the best event I do every single year and it's not even close! Gloria puts it together and it's awesome every year, she doesn't overbook food trucks and we usually have the same ones!
All of the food trucks here are like family and we just all enjoy spending time and seeing each other!
But what makes this event so awesome is you guys the people that come year after year after year. Every time I pull into town I feel like I'm a member of the Ortonville family! I get more waving and horn honking than I do anywhere else and it's not even close. Then you come to the window and not only do you spend your hard-earned money you spend time talking to me and Heather and Payton whoever else has helped me over the years.

Honestly every year that I leave I cannot wait to come back the following year!
