What farm to table really means! 🌧️🐓🚜

We missed posting for National Farmer’s Day because…well, we were farming! Between prepping the whole farm for the weather, getting ready for the farmers market, and preparing for our weekend chicken processing, it was A LOT! 🫠

Inclement weather doesn’t stop the work. The animals still need care, the market goes on, and our pasture-raised chickens still need to make their way from our farm to your family’s table. ❤️

It was a very rainy weekend, but we got it all done—and finished processing and packing in record time! 🙌 We have a great team who work extra hard alongside us, and we still manage to have fun! 🤩

To our team—thank you! We’re so grateful for your time, hard work, and willingness to jump in when there’s so much to do.

Recently your Farmher had a birthday! 🎉 And I can say this one has been one of the best!

A week filled with family and longtime friends left my heart full and gave me plenty to reflect on. 💓

• Aging is a wonderful thing—hey, you’re still ticking! Find what and who feed your soul, and make time for them.

• Don’t worry about being everyone’s cup of tea. There will always be people who drink from your cup, but cherish the ones who remember to fill it back up!

• Take care of yourself and rest. You need care just as much as the people, animals, and work you pour yourself into.

Part of embracing another year is caring for the skin I’m in! 💋

Sixteen years ago, my friend gave me my first jar of beef tallow for my face. It wasn’t trendy, and it definitely didn’t smell amazing! 😜 But it quickly became a skincare staple.

Today, our beef tallow is still part of my daily routine, along with castor oil, a hydrosol face wash and bee venom. Who would have ever thought?! 🐝

I never imagined that my first jar would inspire a cream so many of you love. Your stories and support mean everything to me. ❤️

And with this birthday comes something new, inspired by my own daily routine and created to make yours a little easier.
I’m still working on perfecting it but stay tuned!

Another year older, plenty to be grateful for, and something new to share with you! 🤙💋😊

What’s one of my favorite meals? This right here! 😋 I’ve always ate much weirder than most but this is what I love!

🐓 I slice our chicken hearts and sauté them in butter until they’re beautifully golden brown—and it’s very hard for me not to eat them all straight out of the pan! 😂 Then I take them out, add the chicken livers, and toss in fresh garlic toward the end.

I serve it all with jammy eggs, cottage cheese, and fresh greens. Simple, nourishing, and absolutely delicious!

Organ meats are some of the most nutrient-dense foods you can eat. They’re packed with high-quality protein, iron, vitamin B12, and other essential nutrients—and chicken liver is especially rich in vitamin A and folate.

Our hard work—and our commitment to not using chemicals—is paying off! 🌱💚

By allowing the land to heal naturally, we’ve given the dormant seed bank beneath the soil a chance to reawaken. Just look how gorgeous it is!

This field was once logged land. What you’re seeing today has been years in the making—years of patience, hard work, and trusting the process. Slowly but surely, we’re bringing this land back to life, and moments like this remind us that it’s all worth it.

It’s time to graze! 🐄🌾

We made it through some brutally hot weather! ☀️🥵

Days and days of questioning my life choices… 😜 And if you know me, you know I have NOT been a happy camper during this season of farming. 😂

But then the rain started showing up. 🌧️🌱 The pastures started getting greener, the animals got some relief, and so did this farmer.

And then came National Farmers Market Week ❤️

This week, like every week, YOU were the faithful reminder of why we work so hard.

Every person who stops at our table, fills a cooler, tells a friend about our farm, comes back week after week, or simply takes the time to ask about how we raise your food—you are supporting so much more than a small business.

You’re supporting our farm.
You’re supporting our animals.
You’re supporting the way we believe food should be raised.
And you’re helping make it possible for us to keep doing what we love, even during the seasons when farming tests every ounce of us.

Farmers markets have given us the opportunity to know the people we feed, and that relationship means more to me than I can put into words.

So as we wrap up National Farmers Market Week, thank you for showing up. Thank you for choosing local. Thank you for choosing farmers. And thank you for continuing to choose us. ❤️🌱

You really are the reason we keep showing up, too. 🥹❤️

Wednesdays storm cell gave us quite the experience. I have never seen the amount of lightning I witnessed! It was absolutely unreal!
What was thought to be a quick summer storm stalled over us for a couple hours & it was intense the entire time.

With wind gusts up to 60 mph, hail, and torrential rain, it felt and looked like we were stuck inside a giant washing machine.

A large old tree broke up at the top and smashed a section of fence and hot wire, while another tree broke our interior poly wire. Suddenly, we were hosting a full-blown livestock party. 🥳😜😪 Around 9:30 p.m., we got the poly wire repaired before too many animals decided to explore. We went from drought to flooding all in a couple hours time.

That night I was standing in the dark, exhausted and in tears while helping my husband repair fence. Looking back today, I can finally laugh about it… because farming gives you no other choice. The animals still need cared for, the fences still need fixed, and the work doesn’t stop just because you’re tired. You are literally always working 24/7.

We got back at it early yesterday, but the heat has definitely made the cleanup even more exhausting. Between that and the very well fed rattlesnakes we’ve been working with eyes wide open!

I know I’m ready for cooler weather and my coveralls!

Farming definitely keeps us humble. One minute you’re admiring a beautiful summer evening, and the next you’re chasing livestock, repairing fences, and wondering what Mother Nature has planned next. ❤️🌱
