What a beautiful sight!! After 3 weeks of fighting to keep as many as I could alive, we got our 1st egg ❤️❤️ things are slowly getting back to full normal.

Unfortunately we lost another hen 😞 I thought we were out of the woods & just dealing with depression. We still have 3 that I’ve been watching so we went through the whole flock last night & found out that 6 are still dealing with infection under their wings. So we now have all 6 hens in our shower. We will soak each one, blow dry them & clean their wounds today. I believe all will be well now!

These pictures are such a blessing to see ❤️ The flock is slowly coming back. On top of everything they have been through we have been dealing with depression. Chickens morn the loss of their friends. Willow was very detached for a few days. He was sitting off by himself, wouldn’t hang out with the girls & very aloof. It has been beyond hard to watch. The whole flock has changed, dominance has changed, friendships have been lost. Some have found their new click, others are still struggling. As of now everyone roosts at night, they ALL forage around the yard & they ALL come running for treats. Willow is crowing more & more & has even started calling his girls over for treats❤️ We still don’t have any eggs, but it will happen eventually as they continue to heal mentally, emotionally & physically ❤️❤️

It has been a week from hell here at the Bawk Bawk Barn😔 Our flock was hit with a parasite. Upon treating them (3 days later) we found out that the mixture for the birds was misunderstood & we accidentally poisoned our whole flock. We have washed, rinsed & blow dried each chicken for days. We had a flock of 33. We were loosing our flock at the blink of eye. In the last 10 days our precious flock fought through poisoning, lingering chill, stress, coccidia,chemical burns & depression from losing their loved ones. We are down to 19 chickens & are finally seeing signs of improvement! They are starting to explore the yard & scratch for bugs, some are running for treats, our rooster is crowing more & more every day & we heard the egg song ❤️❤️ We have a close eye on 5, but so far it’s looking okay. It will take time to recover & to rebuild what we have lost. We will never be able to replace the personality’s of those that didn’t pull through. Lessons have been learned, sleep has been lost, hearts have been broken & many tears have been shed. 💔😔

Our poor flock has been hit with a parasite! We dipped the flock & throughly clean the coop, but the flock is still struggling to bounce back 😞 They have been getting special treatment (heated areas, lots of scrambled eggs with extra vitamins & boosters in their water) I hate to see them like this!

It rained ALL day yesterday & dropped to 19* real feel overnight- wet chicken feathers lose their ability to keep chickens warm- so they got a nice little blow dry 😁
