Last week we showed you how the packers put their name on somebody else’s cattle.
Here’s ours.
Every cow on this outfit gets gathered, branded, and shipped off the back of a horse — and not because it looks good. A horse is quiet. Cattle that stay calm don’t get bruised, don’t get sick, and don’t eat stress into the meat.
The horses aren’t bought either. Every one of them was foaled here, out of our own program. The crew is neighbors, family, and kids who’ve been horseback since before they could walk.
Pasture, to our lot in Custer, to our own USDA plant in Hardin. Nobody else ever touches them.
It’s slower. It’s the only way we know that lets us tell you exactly who handled your beef.
