Tracee and Robert Dean, of RADO HERITAGE RANCH, purchased Montana NEVA (1st place Bred Heifer) and Montana NYLA (2nd place Bred Heifer) for their ranch in northern Texas. 16 years ago I set a goal of bringing quality new Red Devon genetic lines back to the US, to strengthen our breed for the future and complement the work of longtime Red Devon breeders in the eastern US. I am excited that these two heifers, bred to OKS Persuade(who traces back to American lines from Hillside, Lakota, and Brookviews breeders) do just that! Tapuwae 912, Tapuwae 635, and Te Maewa Oban are all represented by these heifers. Here’s to genetic diversity and BREED STRENGTH!

Montana MOLLY shows off how the Montana genetics thrive and grow at every age. Molly is a 1st calf heifer with an AI calf sired by Abiding Acres Sampson E8. Most heifers are given extra time in the breeding season to recover from calving and breed back. Not Montana Red Devons. They are bred the same day as the adult cows, and expected to breed up for their second calf in a 45 day window. Molly is clearly raising a dandy calf, maintaining her condition and continuing to grow, and has shown no signs of heat since the bill was pulled from the herd a month ago. Montana Red Devons: fertile, efficient, productive.

Montana NEVA (D-USA8325-). Born May 2, 2025, 900 lbs at 485 days old. This young lady is sired by Tapuwae 912, and shows off her incredible Montana Red Devons genetic breeding. Exposed to OKS Persuade, a polled bull for an April 2027 calf. (Preg testing news 9/24!). We have focused on fertility, efficiency, and conformation for nearly 20 years here at 5000’ elevation, and it shows. These Red Devons receive nothing special all year- just long hay, open fields, and fresh air. Come see NEVA and all the other amazing Devons at the RedDevonUSA National Show, Oct 1-3, Lakota Ranch, Re*****on VA.

Red Devons are famous for high butterfat-cream!- in their milk. This young man’s nose is proof. He’s the biggest bull calf in the herd! An AI son of VIX JURASIC (USAAUVIXJ76), and half brother to last year’s Champion Young Bull.

Of course! One might think that the large chemical companie$$$$ are running the country these day$$$ - and clearing the regulatory decks for the completely unrestricted sale of their poisons! BUY ORGANIC, and BUY LOCAL! It will pay you back immeasurably in lower medical costs in the long run.

Why would we use poisons to kill all life on our food plants- and then put those poisons straight into our own mouths????
