Boiled down all the bones I got with the last lamb butchering.
Lots of broth & tallow plus the chickens got a nice meaty snack afterwards.

Was expecting a delivery today for a John Deere rock bucket.
Little John needs the hook/pin to connect.
Why did they send a skid steer bucket? 🤔

I forgot to post about the HUGE RAIN BOMB we got - 9" by my weather station. (see photos).

The flow of water absolutely destroyed my gravel/caliche driveway. Most of the material washed down hill, tore up the road at the corner where my drive starts.
Nice 4x4 Jeep trail now.

About lost my truck crossing over the now exposed culvert - couldn't see for the rushing water. Good thing I had it in 4H.

Good thing there is a side entrance - still rough but passable.

On the way to work this morning I past the grader and stopped to see if he could go look at it. He said all he could do is put a band-aid on it. Thats something! Thanks!

I came home this afternoon and he'd recovered the culvert so the mail-carrier could get out and me in - did a fair job seeing as he had to get material from farther down.

Anyway - spent this afternoon trying my best with Little John and the box scraper. Did pretty good but the big rocks are now exposed.

Tried to drag the material that WAS* on the driveway back uphill and that took a long time with back and forth using the bucket to smooth as I went.
* the 'river' took it way downhill and through the fence - a lot of material settled on the other side of said fence, so no luck with that.

Made it better for the the mail carrier to negotiate anyway. No rut to negotiate.

Wish I had gotten a few photos now.

ITS RAINING AGAIN! 😭

Little John and I have some work to do.Praise God for the rain but oh my goodness the grass!

Guess what day it is?

Lice, fly & worm day; and for a couple girls : hair cut day!

I promised to get photos of our setup, so here’s a few.

Most did good in the head catch , but silly 5 month old lambs would rather throw a tantrum first. 😂

Everyone got a snack after a short break to let the wormer absorb.

Next time we will try to do the feet.

They had to run back through the chute to get the snacks - so they don’t remember it as a torture chamber! 😉
