💦 Patricia & her water hole 🐷🫶🏻

Patricia doesn’t exactly love sharing her water hole… 😂 But let that hose come out and those holes and pools start filling up, and she is ALWAYS the first one over! 💦🐷

There’s just something about watching these animals enjoy the simple things that makes all the hard work worth it. ❤️

Around here, we’re staying super busy with the end-of-summer activities, getting ready for back-to-school, and trying to soak up these last little bits of summer. To all the mamas out there who are running on coffee, calendars, and pure determination… hang in there. 🫶🏻

And as if we didn’t have enough going on, we’re also patiently waiting for sweet Bertha’s litter of piglets to make their arrival! 💓🐷 We can’t wait to see what this next little chapter brings.

Never a dull moment on the homestead — just lots of blessings, hard work, muddy boots, full days, and plenty of reasons to be thankful. 🌿🤎

🐥✨ NEW LEVEL UNLOCKED ON THE HOMESTEAD! ✨🐥

We’ve officially added a whole bunch of tiny, fluffy faces to the homestead! 🥹🤎

Our new chicks are here, and we are already completely in love. 🐣 From tiny peeps to happy little scratches in the dirt, we can’t wait to watch these babies grow and become part of the everyday chaos that makes homesteading so special. 🌱🐔

🐷💧 One of those little homestead things that has made a BIG difference!

We use water ni***es for our pigs, and honestly… I don’t know why we didn’t start using them sooner! 😂

Instead of having big water tubs that get tipped over, filled with dirt, or turned into a piggy swimming pool 🤣, these keep their water clean and available whenever they need it.

They’re simple, easy to use, and a huge help when you’re caring for pigs every day. We have ours set up right on their water system, and the pigs caught on to using them so quickly!

Just one of those practical little things that makes homesteading a bit easier. 🐖🌱

Morning chores are a little sweeter when they start with Emma. 🤍🌿

I went out to say good morning and do the morning feeding, but Emma had other plans. She was stretched out in the shade, sleeping as peacefully as could be. When she finally woke up with a few sleepy grunts and snorts, I couldn’t help but remind her how beautiful she is.

These quiet little moments are my favorite part of homestead life. 🐷✨

Some people see pigs.

We see Chubs & Emma. 🤎

You’ll usually find these two soaking in their watering hole, covered in mud, or curled up together for an afternoon nap. But the moment they hear us outside working or the kids laughing and playing, they’re up and making their way over to us. Sometimes they just want to watch. Sometimes they just want to be close.

It’s moments like these that remind us this homestead is about so much more than raising animals.

It’s about slowing down enough to notice the little things. Watching each pig grow into their own personality. Earning their trust. Sharing quiet moments at the fence line that somehow become the most meaningful parts of the day.

Lately, my favorite pasture is with the mamas. The happy snorts, the gentle nudges asking for head scratches, and the love they pour out every time we walk over… it’s hard to explain unless you’ve experienced it. Those moments fill our hearts in ways we never expected.

This life isn’t always easy, but days like this remind us exactly why we chose it. And honestly… we wouldn’t trade it for anything. 🌿🤍🐷

“Mom… Chubs found you. He’s waiting to say good morning.” 🐷🤎

Every single morning, our 300-pound baby makes his rounds until he finds me. He’ll stand there so patiently, waiting for his morning scratches, a few sweet words, and of course… a snack. Fresh grass, watermelon, apples—he’s not picky. 🥹🌿🍉🍎

People see a big pig, but we see one of the biggest hearts on our homestead.

Chubs has an important job here. He’s our boar, helping provide healthy piglets for future generations and filling freezers—ours and yours—with pasture-raised pork. Knowing exactly where our food comes from, and giving these animals a life filled with love, full bellies, room to roam, muddy wallows to cool off in, and sunny naps… that’s what homesteading is all about.

He’ll leave the biggest footprints in the pasture… and even bigger ones in our hearts. 🤎
