For the Indigenous People day we wanted to identify this complex piece by Corey Ramon Gibson (🌎🌍🌏 ). Highlighting the connection between Indigenous cultures and southern lineages obscured by American assimilation. Though the cultural memory continues to live beneath the surface and carried through generations.

We All Indigenous, 2025
Oil on canvas 47 x 60 in.

In collaboration with The Reading Room HTX, we are proud to present new works by Houston-based artist Chayse Sampy at Untitled Houston.

Chayse will present a selection of works created during her NXTHVN residency, continuing her exploration of Black connection, memory, identity, and multidimensionality.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a curated selection of art books and literature from The Reading Room HTX, creating a deeper dialogue between the ideas, history, and themes of Chayse’s works and the references that inform them.

Come visit and experience the work, the literature, and the conversations that surround it.

In collaboration with the See A Need-Meet A Need Foundation, SANMAN Studios is pleased to announce “The Great Camouflage,” a solo exhibition by Tay Butler (stayclosetay) on view from September 26 to November 29, 2026.

The exhibition takes its name from the seminal 1945 essay by French-Caribbean theorist, activist and Surrealist Suzanne Césaire and features new work across painting, collage, video, and sculpture. Working to recover the energy of the 1960s-70s era Black political movements, Butler’s artistic practice draws from his two-decade-long experience in the U.S. military and a deep curiosity about Black popular culture. Evoking the rebellious spirit of Césaire, Butler’s The Great Camouflage explores the intersections of American empire, war and professional sports as sites of class warfare.

Tay Butler: The Great Camouflage is curated by writer and independent librarian Amarie Cemone Gipson (Amarie Cemone Gipson). Join us for the opening reception on Saturday, September 26 from 2-5PM. RSVP link in bio.
