Well, who's it gonna be?
According to preg checks at the vet, all 3 are due before Christmas, but we don't have firm dates. So, who will go first, second, and last for this year?? (Don't worry - 2 more are due in the spring!)
Sassy is currently our oldest cow, at 8 years old, and this will be her 7th calf! She was our first milk cow, and has definitely earned her nickname!!
Maggie is Holly's first baby, and is now 3 and looking to have her second calf - her first is an absolute sweetheart that we hope will be another future milk cow! We also hope that Maggie remembers her milk cow training from her first round and settles back into the routine easily!
Poppy is Sassy's 5th calf, and the only one we have ever had by AI breeding! No, not computer AI. Farm AI. She will be having her first calf, and is finally coming around to accepting human interaction. No milk cow status for her, but we hope for beautiful babies, as the sire is Holly's second calf, Parmigiano!
So, who will give up the hostage first? Tell us what you think!
