Orginal post:
Because of it being the weekend after Thanksgiving (making it a very slow day) combined with this horrible weather and a family crisis this last week throwing off our work cycle, we are reducing our farmers market attendance for Saturday Nov. 26th. We will definitely be in attendance at Nassau Bay Farmer's Market from 10-2 but we will be in the Just Peachy's Space. We definitely will NOT be at the Urban Harvest Farmer's Market. We are going to wait to decide on Eleanora's Market around 6am in the morning. We will keep you updated.
Our website and order system is now back up and working.
If you've been trying to place an order anytime since last Friday, September 23rd, we didn't get it, do please submit it again.
How to know: if you didn't get an email copy of your order in a pdf, then we didn't either.
(Posted at noon 9/30/22)
We are having issues with our email system for orders of all kinds. Our webmaster is working on it. It should be back up and running by tomorrow. We apologize if we miss your order.
We will let you know when it's back up and running.
Edit: Quarter 2 & side 3 is sold.

This Saturday we will be at Urban Harvest @ St. John's School from 8-noon (Westhiemer & Buffalo Spwy)
And Nassau Bay Farmer's Market @ Erma's Nutrition Center located across the street from NASA on E. Nasa Pkwy from 10-2.
We will not be at Eleanora's Market this Saturday. Ray and William have to go to a workshop. (They're not quite smart enough yet. But after this workshop yall just watch out.)
Truth. The average side of beef is $1500-$1700 and it FILLS a medium to large deep freezer with beef.
Lasts the average family around a year.
We are on a 3 month order - delivery time frame right now.
Rising meat prices are spurring families around the country to change their purchasing patterns and eating habits.
With a strong 70-80% chance of heavy thunderstorms projected and lasting 90% of the market we have decided not to set up at Kingwood today. It breaks out hearts but it's safest for our customers, inventory & gear and us.
See you next week, Kingwood.
We have so many regular market babies but we've been at it so long some of them are in highschool now (including our own babies!) Today we met a new one! Her mamma started buying from us when she was pregnant. Arnt they both beautiful? We have THE MOST attractive customers EVER. Many have become good friends. Can't wait to watch this smart & strong little girl grow up!
For Saturday 7/30/22
We will be at Eleanora's Market in the Heights and at Nassau Bay Farmer's Market in Clear Lake this Saturday. We will not be at Urban Harvest. Johnathan is out of town and can't work it and our truck is still in the shop... life is complicated.... If you regularly shop Urban Harvest, the Eleanora's Market is NOT far at all. It's at Ella & 21st in the parking lot of Cavatore's Restaurant.
See all of our find us information including maps on lawranch.com
The dreaded time has arrived. We must raise/adjust our prices.
The price sheet is attached. Feel free to save it or share it.
Here are the changes:
Delivery fee goes up to $45 minimum (from $30)
Sides of beef up to $4.75 (from 4.50)
Quarters up to $5.25 (from (4.95)
Bacon 2.5 pound packs up to $35 (from $30)
Roasts going down a dollar to $7 pound (from $8)
Oxtail going down 3 dollars to $7 (from $10)
Ok. Then sausage. We have a new sausage processor who uses a different smoking process. He gets it much drier than the last processor, which makes it dryer/shrink more. So we need to change this price structure.
Fresh stays at $10 pound. Smoked is $12 pound.
Summer Sausage, Beef Sticks, Chicken pencil sausage and beef jerky $15 pound (which is STILL cheaper than Buc-ees).
We made the call to not attend the Kingwood Farmer's Market today due to the flood watch and potential of storms in that area and at the house. If you had a preorder for that market we will contact you.
This news story about thousands of cows dying from "global warming" in Kansas has captured alot of attention and people are asking lots of questions.
Suddenly everyone is a cattle expert...
We came across this video which exactly echoed our discussions about it last night.
Ya it's hot but the feedlot vets and staff can easily mitigate that. Something else is happening in Kansas. He goes over the possibilities in this video.
We agree with him. Heat alone was not the issue.
Was it the feed? The water supply? The soil in the area? He considers all the variables.
We were especially interested in his story at the end about bioterrorism groups tainting the feed supply and the precedence that he discussed as we are always interested in conspiracy theories.
But he nor we really know the answers. These are just things to think about and if you are a cattle producer. Some things we all constantly look out for. Raising healthy cattle isn't as easy as it looks.
https://youtu.be/9bnlg9q7mlc
What just happened in Kanasa was horrific, but the storyline doesn't completely add up. There must be additional elements beyond the heat that led to the un...
We are here until 7pm tonight!

Today is the Kingwood Market.3-7 We feel it is too gusty windy to set up a tent safely. Ray is going to drive the van and use it to have set up because of the weird weather today. That way he can make a quicker escape if a thunderstorm moves in. His cell is 713.492.4875 if you need to contact him due to the weather or a meat emergency. Hopefully these storms will take their time moving through this evening.
We’ll see you at Town Center Park this Thursday from 3pm to 7pm for our Cinco de Mayo market! And don’t forget to grab your mom an incredible gift from our artisan crafters for Mother’s Day.
Pretty.....
We do have some steaks and plenty of chicken
Just so ya know, one of our butchers is still off line. They are have plumbing replaced. Because of that we are really low in the beef department. We still have a few steaks and roasts, but zero hamburger. We are so limited in the beef department that since that's all we sell at Urban Harvest we are not going to staff that market tomorrow. If you would like chicken or pork, find us at Eleanora's Market at Cavetore's Resturant on Ella & 21st in the Heights (9AM-1PM), or at Nassau Bay Farmer's Market at Erma's Nutrition Center across the street from NASA JSC (10AM-2PM).
Today we were interviewed by KPRC Channel 2 News for a feature about sides of beef. They are going to also film at the butcher and at the Kingwood Farmer's Market on Thursday.
Here is our newest price list. The changes reflect our updates to our honey prices. We will issue another new price list around the 1st of May. At that time our side/quarter of beef prices will be changing.
Change in prices on our honey. But, to make this easier on you, we added a smaller bear. 12 oz. So now we have a baby bear (2 oz), a mama bear and a Papa Bear (the same 24 oz we've always had). Plus all the other stuff.
We've been selling out of all honey we can take at our markets lately.
Kingwood Farmer's Market today and
Yes we plan to be at our markets Saturday.
Today is the Kingwood Farmer's Market! 🌞

YEA!!! FINALLY!!
We've got the incredibly popular smoked chicken pencil sausages back in stock!

Law Ranch news:
We are again not at Urban Harvest today. 2 weeks ago we were on an epic Vacation for Spring Break. Last week Johnathan was traveling with his college for a Spring Break field trip. This week Johnathan had to take an exam for his engineering program at UofH. We will be back at Urban Harvest next week. Also, since our daughter Katherine has her driver's license now we are going to train her and buy her a vechile so we can cover all our markets when something comes up.
We are at Eleanora's and Nassau Bay this week. However, we are sold out of pork and low on chicken breasts. (This is why we rarely go on vacation. It messes up our supply cycle for weeks.) We hope to have our freezers and coolers back stocked up next Saturday.
We are at the Kingwood Farmer's Market today! Beautiful day for it!

A warm beef soup is perfect with this cool air that arrived tonight. Or a roast. Or crank up the oven and bake a whole chicken. We have the best value on quality, dry aged, grass fed beef and pasture raised chicken in town. You can get your hands on some in 4 locations this weekend. Saturday we will be at the Crosby United Methodist Church Harvest Moon Festival from 9-2, Urban Harvest on East Side Dr. from 8-noon (beef only), Nassau Bay from 10-1:30 (the market ends at 2, but our kids have a piano recital). Then Sunday we will at Galveston's Own on Post Office from 9-1pm. We made this soup with a diced onion, 2 pounds of stew meat, a frozen vegetable soup mix, 4 diced new potatoes, a large can of crushed tomatoes and some homemade beef broth. Seasoned with coconut aminos, white pepper, paprika and a Baharat blend of Indian spices. It smells amazing! If only we could post smells. Ok. Maybe not...
