I'm honored and a little humbled to share that I've been named one of Kitchen & Bath Design News' 2026 Innovators! 🎉

After more than 30 years in architecture and interior design, my philosophy hasn't changed: innovation is rooted in customization. Every home I design with RMD Designs starts with how you actually live, not with what's trending. That's what drives our custom cabinetry, bespoke furnishings, and the original rug designs from RMD Rugs.

This recognition belongs to so many people. Thank you to Kerrie Kelly, who brought me onto the Plain & Fancy Custom Cabinetry booth team and guided us through a Best Booth Award win in the Medium category at KBIS. Thank you to my fellow designers on that project, to the artisans and manufacturers who bring my designs to life, and to the clients who trust me with their homes.

Congratulations to all 36 of this year's Innovators. It's an inspiring group to be part of!
The full feature is in the October 2026 issue of Kitchen & Bath Design News, so go take a look. 📖

What's one thing in your home you wish was made just for you? I'd love to hear it in the comments. 👇

Verona after dark hits differently.

Ancient piazzas buzzing with aperitivo. Roman walls lit gold against a night sky. Grandmothers, students, travelers, all sharing the same cobblestones like they always have. Because here, they always have.

This is what I came to Italy to feel. Not just to see the design to be inside it. As an architect, there’s no classroom like this. History you can touch. Culture you can taste. Spaces that have been lived in for centuries and still feel alive tonight.
The life of a traveling architect is equal parts inspiration and humility. You think you understand proportion, scale, atmosphere and then Verona hands you a piazza and quietly reminds you what those words actually mean.

The beautiful intersection between design and travel exists when in Verona. 🇮🇹

Euro Cucina: Trends in Mixing metals w/

Axor at Euro Cucina | Part 2

Milan handed me a lot of moments I’m still processing. But walking into the Axor showroom during Euro Cucina was one of those quiet ones, the kind where you slow down without meaning to.

Every fixture, every finish, every considered edge in that space reflected a design philosophy that doesn’t ask for attention, it simply earns it.

I was there with Matt, and we spent more time than we probably planned just moving through the space, talking through what makes a bath truly designed versus merely furnished. For my clients, the ones who notice when something is right, this is exactly the kind of sourcing conversation that changes a project.

Bringing this back to Northeast Ohio. More to share soon. 🖤
