Look for HONEY sign. Selling raw, local honey in Quart ($22), Pint ($12), and 10 oz Jelly jar ($8). We accept cash or Venmo payments.

I planted butterfly milkweed seeds, July 19 and the seedlings are ready for potting up. I was gonna leave them in the large tote, but so many germinated they needed more space to grow. I removed 200 seedlings for plant plugs , and have plenty left over. The seedlings should be ready to plant in the ground this fall. 8/01/26

I have a number of native plants left over from last year, and I’m going to put them to good use expanding my native garden. I’m excited to see it come together! It’s hot work! I spent most of the day yesterday on my tractor preparing this area 🌱🫶🏼🦋🐝🌼🐦‍⬛

Just because the web says a seed takes 60 days of cold stratification doesn’t mean it’s completely factual. These are native red Columbine seedlings from seeds that I scattered a month ago. I had flowering plants this spring and after I collected seeds I needed, I had extra. I decided to scatter them in shady locations where I could transplant them later easily. Worst case scenario they would come up next spring. This location gets water regularly, so I know it won’t dry out. I use information on the web as a guideline, but not a hard rule, and have found many things to be not quite accurate, and this is one example. I like to learn by observing and experimenting always testing and trying to improve my methods of growing native plants. It is almost always a good thing when I can speed up the process of growing plants. These seedlings will likely grow to be mature plants that will bloom next year. 👍🏻😊🌱Dubois co. 7/15/26
