4 Bear Ranch, LLC 4 Bear Ranch is dedicated to the growing of livestock, fruits and vegetables, honey, dairy, and making homemade food products for our local community to enjoy.

At the ranch, we are focused on regenerative land practices and happy and healthy livestock. At 4 Bear Ranch our goals are to rebuild a healthy topsoil on our 28 acres of land and implement rotational grazing practices leading to happy and healthy livestock. We have a combination of forested areas and pasture in between two mountains with a seasonal creek running through it. The location has proven to have its own microclimate, different than that of the open mountain faces and different than that of the valley floor. It has been a challenge to build a garden, orchard, and ranch in general; however, it has been a rewarding challenge as we see how care for the land becomes easier by working with the livestock and their natural grazing patterns, and not against it. Well…weather forecast shifted again…not 50% snow…now 70% rain ☔️ well…guess I didn’t have to do all that I did do…but now it’s done! ✅ 🤪 gotta love the weather guessers and MT weather…we shall really see what happens now!

Got the bees covered for now - they need a bit more for actual winter…

Got the potatoes dug up

Got all the edible things out of the garden - shockingly we still had tomatoes growing!

Gave Mr. Ringo his tetanus booster and visited with the cows some

Got everyone watered and fed

Got all the wood moved up to the house from lower wood shed

Got the garden, orchard, rv, and animal hoses situated for cold weather or stored.

Moved the lemon tree inside…hopefully the dogs don’t eat it.

Now time to make chili! Mix up a few things for baking tomorrow, and watch a little Hallmark Christmas!! 🎄

Here is my true ranch life post…

I was down by the hog pens feeding and watering. Getting ready to go to the lower pen, there is this brown fuzzy thing on the ground that made me jump and almost spill the bucket of feed…almost…

I look at it thinking it’s some sort of hoofed foot with the black…or something…and just like what on EARTH is THAT thing?!?!?!?
Then I realize…the black…it’s a band…and realize ohhhhhh…it’s a bag of nuts!!!🥜 🤪 🤣 😜 and yes, I laughed until tears in my eyes, to the point, anyone would’ve thought I was crazy… oh all the things…. Well, Mr. Ringo is officially a steer!!!

Who knows how the bag of nuts made it to where it did…cat, bird, chicken…who knows.
Had to pick it up by a hair and toss it in the trash…the bag of nuts rattled…I cracked up once again…
Ranch life….sent the picture to my husband…he thought it was an animal head of sorts… hahahahaha … nope… just a bag of nuts 🥜
