Today was fire mitigation and tree felling - we have a lot to do, but we are starting to see our efforts, and the cows efforts, pay off!! The cows graze the wooded areas, thinning the underbrush, so that we can get out what needs to come on out!! The big stuff will wait for the Kreis’s…but the rest we will get on out as much as we can!! It’s an all hands on deck type of operation…

Had a pop-up hay run to Stevensville - and ice cream of course!!! Chris was home on this one…and Mini Me got to drive again - though she quit on us that last few bales 🤪

Of course the reality of the task hit us this morning when we fully realized we needed to unload 3 ton of hay from the trailer before we got go get another 3 ton… we will feel it tomorrow for sure 🤣 😜 🤪

Done for this weekend’s market! Friday to Sunday, 9am to 6:30pm! The Ridgewood Country Market will have these yummy goodies alongside all the other wonderful treasures inside!

I am currently eating a slice of toasted butter slathered honey butter sourdough! It is delicious!!

And wow! It is super yummy with Strawberry Jam on it!! The fridge isn’t up and running yet - but this bread is also delicious with honey butter! Grab some Hindu Hillbilly Honey and mix 1/2 cup butter, 1 tablespoon honey, 1/4 cup powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon - slather it in the bread as is or warmed or toasted!!! So yummy!!! This would go AMAZING with a hot cup of coffee - not going that right now though, it’s almost 10:30 at night 🤪 I’ll just have to have another piece in the morning for breakfast!!

Not sure you can finish a whole loaf? Simply slice in half, wrap tight in plastic wrap and pop
Into a ziplock with air removed, or wrap again tight in plastic wrap. Freeze up to 3 months. Thaw and eat as is or toast it up by slices or as half a loaf in the oven. The bread tastes more fresh the sooner it is frozen after baking!

These goodies will be in the market after the bus picks up the kiddo!

Well…worked on Grant paperwork and baking Sourdough last night and am still baking today in between deliveries and friend visits!!! Last night, everyday sourdough and buttery croissant sourdough loaves were baked up. And today, Cinnamon Honey Butter Loaves!!! And these ones smell delicious!!! 🤤 all of them got a bit more puffy than expected in the heat - but they all seem to be baking up quite well! The market will for sure be one Cinnamon Honey Butter Loaf short… 😋 🤤

2nd step - to get everything shaped and popped into proofing baskets or bowls…12 loaves in work - 6 are going to the fridge to slow down the process just a bit!

Now gotta go get the animals fed!!

2 bulk batches of sourdough in works!! Seriously gives me an arm workout mixing this stuff up!!! 🤪

The nights are getting cooler - but the days are toasty warm! If all goes well, I should be able to warm the house in the morning baking bread!!🥖

Some of these will make their way to the Ridgewood Country Market on Friday morning!

I ran out of sourdough starter - so making more of that - next up is English muffins and Bagels!

The harvest is pretty weak this year…but, we at least got something… little sugar snap peas are delicious! We actually have some flowers that popped up! Oregano did fantastic! And well, they are small but we have some tomatoes! Now to finish the greenhouse build, and transplant those tomatoes, cause they aren’t going to make it before the first frost…

It’s been a weird garden year….

Baking up some treats for the Ridgewood Country Market this morning! They won’t be there at 9 - I need to pack and label, and there is a batch of cookies in the oven!

Among the other wonderful treasures in the market, you will find:

Small Loaf Old Fashioned Banana Bread
Bakery Style Chocolate Chip Cookies 🍪

The banana bread is yummy with a pat of butter! And I have 1 extra cookie that is about to be gobbled up! 🤪

Welcome to the NEW Nine Mile Community Center page! We recovered our old account…and then got hacked again in less than 24hrs! We are not sure where the break was and after several password changes, 2-Factor updates, etc etc…we have decided to make a new page! 2 boy piglets are all done! Takes longer to swaddle them in a swaddle blanket than to actually get the deed done 🤪 they are now back with their mama and happily eating breakfast and chilling. I did their 15 minute check and I’ll check on them again in a couple hours to make sure all is good 😊 Christmas Music and Swaddling - makes them calm and whole thing is done in less than 20 seconds…I am truly glad there were only 2 males that needed to be done…
