Now that the home is going on the market, might as well take yall on a little tour! We love the traditional craftsman style of this home. We never wanted to modernize it. We just wanted to update it to showcase its original charm.
Let’s start in the kitchen and dining room. If you enter the home from the mudroom, you will come into the kitchen. This kitchen has a TON of storage and we even removed a very awkward cupboard that basically hit you when you walked through the door. The kitchen would have been our next major makeover. We had big plans for this space. Remove the drop ceiling. New U shaped counter. Open up the wall to the dining room so it would flow together. But over the last 6 months or so I’ve heard that open floor plans are not trending anymore and people are actually closing off their open spaces. So maybe the new owners will like a more traditional floor plan.
Who remembers the floor to ceiling floral wallpaper in the dining room?! This room was the first to get a makeover since we spend a lot of our time gathered around the table as a family. Removed that lovely wallpaper, textured the upper half of the walls. Kept the beautiful original shelf, but added board and batten on the lower half to bring it back to its traditional craftsmanship. Those windows are still original single pane. Along with the kitchen remodel, we wanted to push out of the dining room and open up into a nice outdoor entertainment space. The backyard is huge and has enough room and then some to expand out.
The built-in speaks for itself. Has great storage space on the bottom and nice size shelves on the top for showcasing those special things in your life🤍
