Rio was one of our original registered goats. She completed her first lactation at 1225 pounds which we were really pleased with. Her daughter - Spitting Image will be a first freshener this time as well. After kidding Rio will be heading to a new farm - she’s the only horned goat at our farm, so she’s a bit of a bully. 😂😳

Another confirmed breeding from our stinky Charm!! Calliope is one of our easiest milkers - her udder and teats are so buttery and soft - she’s a dream on the stand. Calliope finished her lactation at just over 1350 pounds - earning her ⭐️ for production, butter fat, and protein!!🙌🙌 We have Calliope’s daughter bred as well, so we are looking forward to some outstanding production!!

Another confirmed breeding - KidCo Kalidy Kia X Stratton Creek Bad Moon Rising. Kalidy earned her milk ⭐️ before coming to the farm. This is her second freshening with us. Unfortunately her first kidding ended with a doeling that didn’t survive. Kalidy is a dream to milk so we are crossing our fingers for a successful kidding with multiple doelings this round! 🤞Bad Moon has already added some great genetics to our herd and we are really excited to see what this next round produces!

We have had a whirlwind of breedings in the last month. January and February are going to be exciting!! This confirmed breeding is: Bristlecone Springs Rose Oak X Coal Creek Acres Southern Charm. This will be Rose’s 3rd freshening at the farm and not only did she easily earn her milk ⭐️ for production, butter fat AND protein - she also gave us Bella Rose who is on track to be a 1450 pound milker! 😳🙌😊 Southern Charm is in the game for the first time, but boy did he understand his assignment. Poor guy is actually a WHITE goat, but his cologne has left a bit of a mark. 😂😂

Bit of Something Sierra Leone has also been hanging out at the farm joining in milk testing. She is such a “chill” gal. If milking could be done laying down - she’d be all for it! She’s rarely far from her farm mate Zira. She’s grown into a great milker and I’m sure will only get better with future freshenings. We will miss Sierra too - but I’m sure we don’t give her idea of “enough” animal crackers, so she will be thrilled to head back home to mom! 😂😂❤️

Bit of Something Zira has been with us since early March so we could include her in our milk testing. At the beginning she was a bit standoffish - slow to come up. Not anymore!!😂😂 If you are sitting anywhere she will come right up and demand scratches. If you’re not moving enough she will bob her head to help you give more scratches. It’s been a pleasure to have Zira here, and milking her has been a dream. We will miss this gal when she leaves, but I know she - and especially her mom - will be glad to get home!! 😂😊❤️

Sad 😔 news - milk availability at the farm will be ending soon. We will be drying off all of the girls for November and December. I will be having hand surgery in the next few days which will make milking very difficult. In addition we have 15 confirmed pregnant does - 10 of which are due in January. We try to give our does 2 months without milking to help “cook” those kids. 🥰

Good news though - we will again be packaging and bundling sweet treats for Christmas gifts! 🎁 🎄🙌 We will start taking orders the first of November - keep watching for options and new flavors…..peppermint mocha? Eggnog?? Stay tuned!!
