, , I’m excited to unveil “Patty Cakes,” a mixture of wild imaginative abandon coupled with the raw spirit of an open hand, a gesture for friendship, a fervent request for a connection. Like me the starter for this bread has been on a journey, one that lead from Ohio to Texas to Alaska. Baking this bread allows me a safe outlet to be plain reckless, a series of “what the hell, why not?,” as well as chance to just fail without consequence. What I’ve also discovered is that this bread help connects me with my new community. Through it warm hugs, new relationships, and bright beginnings are possible. I’m proud to support our local Cancer Center, Southeast Radiation Oncology, through the baking of Patty Cakes. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to lend a hand to those affected by Cancer, an unsuspected side affect of which has been healing myself.
