Karnes County Livestock Exchange, Inc. Selling cattle, sheep, goats and horses every Thursday. Auction starts at 11 a.m.

Located on the outskirts of Kenedy, the Karnes County Livestock Exchange has been under continuous operation by members of the Houck family since 1946. Currently operated by the fourth generation, our goal has always been to market our customer's livestock in a professional manner. Drawing from some of the state's best order buyers, we consistently have buyers on hand to insure top market price for your consignments.

Good Friday to all!! The market reads to be steady but I’d have bet the farm it was stronger. The demand was outstanding and bidding aggressive throughout the day. Recent rainfall and some positive traction on the cattle futures has relieved some pressure felt by buyers. I still look for a seasonal dip as weather conditions begin to raise the stakes on preconditioning calves.

Yesterday’s cow market was a welcoming site after fear of money being pulled late last week. Cows and bulls traded steady with last Thursday.
The light weight steers gained traction, while the heifer mates rolled on through behind their brothers. Larger framed heavy weight cattle, both steers and heifers looked steady all day!!

Had a wonderful market today. Want to sincerely thank everyone for participating both on the buying end and the selling. Market appeared 10-15 dollars a hundred better in most all classes of calves and yearlings. The cows were a shot cheaper this week than last but overall a great news in the calf market. Again, thank everyone and if we can be of service don’t hesitate to reach out.
