SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL PROCESSING PLANT AND THE FARMERS BEHIND IT

We want to take a moment to talk about why supporting your local processing plant matters not just to us, but to the farmers, families, and communities around us.

At Divine Mercy Farm, we are more than a processing plant. We are farmers ourselves.

We raise cattle, hogs, lambs, and goats, and we understand firsthand how much work goes into raising good livestock. We also believe in knowing where our food comes from and keeping as much of that process local as possible.

We raise our animals with an emphasis on organic, responsible farming practices, process our own livestock, and offer our products directly to consumers.

That means there isn’t a long chain of corporations between the farm and your family’s table.

We raise it.
We process it.
We package it.
We sell it directly to you.

And that’s what local agriculture is supposed to be about
knowing your farmer, knowing your processor, and knowing where your food comes from.

Being a USDA-inspected processing plant also allows us to serve other local farmers who want to keep their livestock and their businesses closer to home.

When farmers have access to a local processor, it can mean fewer miles hauling livestock, more options for marketing their animals, and more of the money generated by agriculture staying within the local economy.

And when processing plants close, the effects are felt throughout the entire agricultural community.

We’ve watched large companies such as Tyson Foods close processing facilities, impacting employees, livestock producers, and the communities around those plants. When processing capacity disappears, farmers can face fewer options, longer hauls, and higher costs.

That’s why local processing matters.

When you support a local processor, you’re supporting more than a building. You’re supporting farmers, employees, families, truckers, feed suppliers, local businesses, and the future of agriculture in your community.
