We hope all are well.

It has been an interesting beginning for the ‘26 growing season.

The apple’s green tip stage started 5 days later than in ‘25.

But, it only takes one night to have damage done due to frost/freeze during early bloom and the pink stage of flower development.

On April 20th and 21st temperatures went down to a low of 23.9 and others reported below 20 degrees.

We tried to mitigate the damages thru wind machines and some cultural practices.

We believe that we have been surprisingly successful. There are a few varieties that will be little to none, but most are looking okay.

We will know more after the natural thinning stage occurs. We will be able to see the fruit set and the cosmetic appearance of those varieties .

Stay tuned.

Today, we remember and honor our fallen heroes.

We hope all have had a healthy, happy holiday season and a start to the new year!

Since mid December I have been making the slow trek out into the orchard to prune. It’s been a little less comfortable than the past few years.

But, the trees are sleeping. And like the ski resorts, the snow mobile riders and businesses, the orchardists love a long, cold winter.

There are no guarantees, but it lessens the potential for early spring cold weather damage.

We shall see.

Stay warm.

Well, there are 31 jars of our raspberry syrup available starting today.

And there is a new bread type available:
Pumpkin walnut with chocolate chips.

I will post tomorrow what the apple situation is for this upcoming weekend.

Plenty of our varieties are still available, and all other varieties are available in the stand, including Honeycrisp.
