Spring litters are 2 weeks old!

We had a bumpy start, but now all the kits are growing nicely. We have had eyes opening slowly over the last few days. Everyone is fluffy and well-fed too!

This round of litters has reminded me how important it is to always breed more than one doe at a time.

All of the mamas are doing well. Our fiber seeds, which are a few days older than our other kits, are extra energetic! We have lots of white this time around! While different colors are always fun, you can't go wrong with REW! 🤍

Also, as long as everything goes well, we will be expecting standard Satins in a few weeks! These will be my first Satin litters in a looong time so I am incredibly excited.🤞

Satin Angoras:
• Junior Buck “Puppy”
>> Broken Chocolate (Self Chin)
>> Brood Quality — Incorrect Eyecolor
>> He does have half a butterfly, I just forgot to take a picture if his face

• Junior Doe “Kitten”
>> Broken Black (Self Chin)
>> Brood Quality — Incorrect Eyecolor

• Junior Buck “Piglet”
>> Broken Lilac Pearl
>> Show Quality

• Junior Buck “Kid”
>> Black (Self Chin)
>> Brood Quality — Incorrect Eyecolor

• Junior Doe “Cub”
>> Blue (Self Chin)
>> Brood Quality — Nicked Ear

• Senior Doe “Mystic”
>> Blue Pearl
>> Show Quality & Proven
>> She is a gorgeous doe but with downsizing on the angoras I had to pick one to go and unfortunately she is the one I chose; Right now she is a little scruffy looking since she is recovering from her second litter; She is also a wonderful mom!

• Senior Buck “Caraway”
>> Blue
>> Show Quality & Proven
>> He is an amazing buck! It will be very difficult to part with him and the only reason I am doing so is because his son is staying; He has about 2 months of grow out so not quite at his peak wool length; His wool is relatively low maintenance as well

American Sable:
• Senior Buck “Mikhael”
>> Brood Quality
>> Incomplete Pedigree (Just Parents)
>> He is a wonderful rabbit but unfortunately, at a few months old, he suffered a leg injury (dilocated knee) that did not properly set; It has never really bothered him and he gets around perfectly fine; However, because of how he sits and poses it is unlikely he would be showable; Nevertheless, he is proven (gave us a litter of 13) and has a nice personality; He would serve any breeding program or even pet family well! If no one shows any interest he may end up staying 😆

For any questions or inquiries feel free to reach out!

It took a few trys but everyone held still enough for me to get a picture 😅

From left to right
Black Buck, Blue Doe, Broken Blue Buck, Broken Black Doe, Broken Choc Buck, Broken Lilac Pearl Buck

There were a few surprises here, I really wasn’t expecting much variety 😅

This entire litter is self chinchilla as they are out of a blue pearl and broken chocolate self chin
Unfortunately it looks like we have some mismatched eye colors so not everyone will be showable but I suspect they will make lovely woolers nonetheless

They are only a month old but growing fast and I look forward to seeing them mature

Homegrown SC’s “Pegasus” definitely takes after his mom, “Parsley”, in many ways! He’s not just a big boy but also has amazingly long and dense wool! To top if all off he has a great personality 🤍

Still grateful I decided to keep this guy in our herd. 😁

These lovely babies are already 6 weeks old! 🤎

So we are starting the weaning process now! They are away from mom but will stay together for the next couple of weeks to ease the transition and start growing out. I usually keep them until 10-12 weeks. At 10 weeks I will most likely separate bucks and does. We don’t want any surprised!

This litter will be ready in July!

Chocolate Chins are both does
REWs are both bucks
And the Chocolate Agouti is a buck as well (pending)

Still debating on keeping one of those pretty chin does for myself 🤭

Spring litters are nearing the 10 day mark and we should have some eyes open pretty soon!

Sage and Bay gave us a lovely litter of 5
Parsley and Borealis had an amazing litter of 11! Although we have lost a couple the rest are now thriving! ☺️ Sage has been such a good mama as she took on the ones Parsley couldn’t care for

Both mamas have been working hard and have done amazing! 🥰

And I am looking forward to seeing how some of these new-to-me colors turn out 🤩
